Also, when I select a section of text in the comment box, it becomes illegible silver / light gray on a white background

The colors when you highlight links when composing a new post or editing an existing one should now show up in a readable fashion now as well on both themes.

I believe that is everything now (that I am aware of) with the exception of the automated babe links which is going to be a medium to long term project I think.

But let us know if you spot anything else that needs adjusting.

Attaching pictures (full size) now such as 1333 pixels x 2000 pixels is making them appear huge. Similar to old school pictures like 683 pixels x 1024 pixels. For consistency, they have to be attached as thumbnail images.

Sorry, John - I don't understand what you mean?

If you upload images of that size, it should be automatically scaled down like it always has been.

I'm pretty sure that before the update, it was possible to quote someone and copy it, to insert it into an existing post or PM, to help clarify when two responses were made at effectively the same time, what ends up being the slightly later post was actually referring to. But now it doesn't get the "quote box," just the text.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean but could it be that you have BBCode toggled on? The square brackets icon on the right hand-side. [ ]

Click it and find out if you can do what you want afterwards. The icons like bold, italics etc. should be a lighter shade of grey when it's turned on which denotes that you can't use those other buttons.
