Thanks for the comment on the board. I'm one of those fiscal conservatives that does believe that there is a purpose to government beyond protecting our borders. We're here to come together and improve life for everyone. I don't think there is a single clean answer to this, but we should try. Romney was an idiot for wanting to cut PBS. It doesn't make fiscal sense, but it is the right thing to do to fund them.

I'm a Roman Catholic. Not sure if I'm "recovering or not". I'm practicing and can't say I'm happy with their policies or history. They deserve the criticism. I've been fortunate to only encounter the good with the Church in my life, but there is quite a bit of ugliness. This was a good example of the stupidity. Of all organizations they should morally take it on the chin if that is what they believe in.

In the same posting - your take on Abro's comments is very different than mine. I thought he was pointing out their lousy logic. (Not sure if there is still some bad ***** there - none of my fuckin' business!)

Yeah, I agree with your point on the Religious Right as well. About 100 years ago, the Democrats had them on their side. Somehow they offloaded them onto the Republicans. It is an anchor.
