The first few Metallica records were ok. I didn't really like them, but I saw them as valid entries in a burgeoning Thrash scene. From the Black Album onwards has been completely unacceptable though. Keep in mind, I was born in 1988.

Hey, I never said I appreciate assari, just that I appreciate him more. Like how if someone cut off one of your fingers, and you thought to yourself how much that sucked, then they cut off your arm and said to yourself, "Wow, I never really knew how good I still had it when I was just missing a finger!" That's what assari is; a painful, debilitating injury that sucks an incredible amount of ass, but that is still much better than a crippling maiming that will likely lead to death due to ***** loss.

Yo buddy, been a while. I'm on here from time to time, but to be honest I haven't been posting much because since I've moved out of CA politics just doesn't rile me up like it used to. Texas has been great, still looking for work to be honest, but everyone has been really nice and I really enjoyed the summer. Nothing like 90 degrees at 1 am! How you been? Oh, and reading the below, if you're interested in that whole "New ****" debacle, what the boffins didn't take into consideration with their taste tests was the psychological impact (especially Stateside) of changing something as fundamental to a lot of people's lives - even people that in the blind tests thought the new recipe was better - as what "THEIR" **** tasted like. It was "how dare they" on a massive scale, it was like a member of the ****** had been ********. I studied it at great length in my Masters. We never had "New ****" over here, but we did get Tab Clear. That was shite. I love the quote in The Wedding Singer : "I like old **** more than New **** because it's old, and so am I."

Didn't even remember making that post. I do know that New **** was supposed to be like Pepsi. It was sweeter, much like Pepsi. While **** was still leading at the time (thanks to better distribution), Pepsi was stealing ****'s market share, especially among younger drinkers. So **** was looking at some serious problems in the future, and market research said Pepsi drinkers drank it because it was sweeter. So **** changed the formula, people in taste tests approved then they launched it and... everybody took a giant ****.

Of course, then they released "**** Classic" which was a huge marketing coup and paid off. So... all's well that ends well I guess. :dunno:
