Dude...They were absolutely one of those "You should'a been there" bands. Some of the best shows I went to were Pantera shows.

:banger: Cool, man. Yeah, I just thought of something. Almost every album by both came out the same year. Facelift/Cowboys from Hell, Dirt/Vulgar Display of Power, Jar of Flies/Far Beyond Driven, Alice in Chains (i.e. 'Tripod')/The Great Southern Trendkill. The every-other-year thing.
Would've been great to see them together live. Saw Pantera a couple times but never AiC.
