At 450 pounds, Ohio killer fights execution

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — At about 450 pounds, Ohio death row inmate Ronald Post is so fat that his executioners won't be able to find veins in his arms or legs for the lethal *********, and he might even break the death chamber gurney, his lawyers say.

If the state is ****** to use a backup method that involves injecting the ***** directly into muscle, the process could require multiple doses over several hours or even days and result in a grueling and painful end, they say.

Post, who gained close to 200 pounds on death row, is trying to stave off execution Jan. 16 for the 1983 ******* of a motel clerk during a robbery, arguing that because of his obesity, an attempt to put him to death would amount to cruel and unusual punishment.

Not sure what I'm less surprised by: the fact that some scumbag is trying to parlay his way out of getting executed by feeding his face, or the fact that it happened in Ohio.

Republican Gov. John Kasich's decision to grant clemency to Ronald Post mirrored the recommendation of mercy by the state parole board, which said it didn't doubt Post's guilt but said there were too many problems with how he was represented 30 years ago.

Post, who weighs 450 pounds, never raised the issue of his size with the board. And Kasich, who commuted Post's sentence to life with no chance of parole, didn't mention Post's obesity claim in his statement. Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols said the governor didn't consider Post's obesity claim.

In 2005, Terry Schiavo, the florida woman who had been in a vegetative state since 1998, by court order was allowed to slowly die over the course of 13 days with the removal of her feeding tube. This was argued to be a compassionate end by those on that side of the issue.

I think the same compassion should be shown to this convicted ********. The state gets to carry out it's sentence and he gets to lose some weight in the process.

After he's on lying on the floor...two more for good measure, and reassurance. Then get a forklift, get a garbage truck, and dump him in it...they'll know where to empty it.
