Is your computer and other things going to go on that desk? Also, is the desk and bookcase one unit or are they two separate things put close to each other?

Hmmmm...just out of curiosity has anybody in one of your Paranoia games ever been brave enough to tell you that Petra sounds like a commie name. I mean what's the worst that can happen, you **** them twice?

(Actually with clones I think that might very well be possible. So maybe not bringing it up is for the best after all. :1orglaugh)

It's 2 units, the desk just clicks onto the bookcase. And that's where my PC will be making it's home.

And no, nobody in my Paranoia games have ever braved telling me Petra sounds like a commie scum name. In fact, word is starting to get around that you just do what I say. LOL

So it turns out that if you are presented with a problem that requires you to talk to some people in a village, its not the greatest idea to climb up on the roof and fall through it, set the roof on fire, panic, run in to a wall and knock yourself unconcious.

The correct course of action in this case would have been to knock on the door. Who´d have thunk...

We like to fail as a group rather than as individuals.

Thus disproving the long held notion that fire can solve all problems in an RPG session.

The good news is that it seems like I will have more time and more players in the near future for some RPG action.

The bad news is that all those people that might come back and start playing have also started back playing MtG again after all these years and will probably eat into it. Not that I have a problem with MtG except I don't like it as well as a good table top RPG session, and it's freaking expensive to get into and keep playing.

ive never played MtG. dont get me wrong, ive always been curious, and the art looks amazing, but it looks pretty expensive. card games are like that. i have a sizable collection of pokemon cards which is good enough for me.

id rather play D&D.

I stopped playing mtg in 97 when highschool ended and ONLY started playing because some dumb fuck told me it was too complicated for girls to understand. o_O

At this point I really don't see the point of playing again. I much rather spend my money on RPGs and card games/board games that anyone can play. Long live Arkham Horror and Last Night on Earth.

I don't mind it, but for me to play again they would either have to make it a lot cheaper...which I don't see happening anytime soon. (Or I would have to get a job that pays a lot more...which I don't see happening anytime soon. :1orglaugh) It's fun for what it is, a technical strategy game with good art, but it's not roleplaying. I think if I ever get back into it, it would be for something like booster drafts where there is only a limited amount of money to spend, more strategy and good play comes into focus, and I don't have to keep up an arms race with people to try to see who can get their power cards and combos out first. After a while one of the things I missed about the game was the variety of creative new things people would come up with where it turned into a couple of deck designs almost everybody used and copied and played the same way.

It also doesn't help I probably haven't played or bought cards for it since around 2001. I don't feel like spending money to catch up on over a dozen expansions since then. On the plus side I see that some of my power 9 cards form Unlimited and all the duel lands among other cards I have have really went up in price. I also sort of think it's humorous that I have heard people that have almost freaked out because I have ***** of Wills, and I tell people that when I bought them they were only uncommon. It's just too bad I don't have anybody that would buy some of the old cards, and really, I don't like the idea of getting rid of them considering I always have this nagging feeling I might need to use them someday, or maybe someday I will just get together with some ****** or people I have known and just play with the old stuff.

in all the MtG talks at my meetups, everyone complains about the older cards being phased out and not working with the newer ones. if that was true, id be pretty upset.

even my old original pokemon sets still work with the new ones.

Oh hell, this was already the case in 97 when they moved on to some powers that allowed 'phasing' and silly **** like that. Rendered alot of my 4th edition useless.

well.. i found a couple very interesting things at a thrift store today.

year of the phoenix and freedom fighters. 2 complete RPG sets from around '86 or so. dice, a couple books, cut out minis, and all.

i dont know **** about these sets yet but they look cool. the phoenix one is right up my alley. its like futuristic commie ****. ah, the cold war..

the boxes show wear but the insides are immaculate. they each have all their parts. i like the badge in the freedom fighters set. heh

made by fantasy games unlimited. (whoever that is).

there was also some newer WW2 miniatures game book which i ****** up. it was made sometime recently and didnt interest me.

apparently, fantasy games unlimited is still around and kicking. made pretty close to where im living.

also, year of the phoenix sounds bitching.

you're doing some sort of space rescue mission and there's an explosion and you're zapped into a time warp (totally 80s, right?) sending you 200 years into the future. the twist is that in that 200 years into the future, america has fallen to the soviet union. and america is now amerika.

i can get into that **** for sure.

also.. looks like you can still buy it! http://www.fantasygamesunlimited.net/category/Year-of-the-Phoenix-9

I've now decided to merge savaged my little ponies with realms of cthulhu so I can use Sanity and corruption. Mwahahahahaha.

Now that I stated the one dice in a fish bowl idea I heard, I know wonder what it would be like to have a moderately sized aquarium with fish in it and have the bottom decorated with dice instead of the usual stuff. Of course I don't like fish or aquariums for the space they take up, the electricity they use, and the pain of taking care of them, but the idea does seem kind of cool, if expensive.

/\ thats why i have a betta now. no pumps, no bubbles, no cost.

i used to have 7 aquariums full of fish. but this state charges you big time for power.

i do have a wolverine minature in my betta's little tank in his rocks. never been a wolverine fan ;) gimme rouge, gambit, or cyclops.

You'd proably want to be very careful about putting dice or anything plastic into fish bowls. The plastic has poisons that will **** the fish...ask my husband who ****** off his entire tank due to the plastic plants. o-O
