Do you care about world events?

I do but only in the sense that I think it's just funny! I have no hatred towards my species, I believe a majority are good people just trying to make it day by day and will help others in need but just looking back on us as a whole, we are the craziest peoples!!

i do and i dont. i care about the world, but i dont wanna hear all the bad **** on the news all day.

you probably notice i stay out of news, politics, and ********* gossip threads. politics is so fucking cliche and boring i just stay out of it. its the same arguments over and over and over and over and over. *********** are boring and the infatuation with them is sickening.

i actually stay away from the news at all times. i dont watch it on tv, i dont read the paper, i dont go online and read news there. its not that i dont care, its that i dont want to hear it and be depressed all day. i refuse to become controlled by it and though i know absolutely nothing about pop culture, i much prefer it that way.

I do because I like to stay informed. Knowledge is important to making the right decisions and learning from it and past mistakes is important. Not to mention that world events have a way of effecting more people than ever before because the world is more interconnected. It's also good to know what you are talking about when you speak on subjects instead of just spouting off nonsense.

And if so...why?

Today now more than ever, world events and the outcome thereof have a greater tendency to negatively affect trade throughout the world, sure I care. If trade is affected, then there may be some domino effect fallout that occurs, for instance, your economy may suffer, the ranks of the unemployed might go on the up and up, the credit markets may take a severe hit and so on and so forth.

The new world order, NAFTA/GATT, open borders and ''Free Trade'' to name a few, has ****** the western world into a state of greater interdependence.. . . do ya like it?

I used to but not so much anymore. Things that should get done (ie finding cures for diseases or combatting starvation) don't get done and the media only pushes forward the stories it wants you to know about and neglects the ones that could be more serious. I also think world events are more relevant in today's society as there is a lot of interaction between different countries whether it's trade or movement of people for jobs/holidays etc so an event in one country may have an impact on others as well.

nah

As I mature (hahahahahaha) I become more intersted in what is happening in the world, although there isn't alot that I can do about it......except keep writing and calling people of influence to vent my concerns.

No. The "news" when it comes to world events is just about strife, conflict, religious atrocities, rising prices, and Justin Beiber. I'm sure all that **** constitutes only about 5% of everything going on.

I'm optimistic that the other 95% going on in the world is cool **** like people snowboarding, having ass-to-mouth sex, climbing mountains, making great music, smokin' good reefer, jumping motorcycles, and bangin' 7 gram rocks.

I don't care about world events because I know somewhere at all times, somebody's doing something incredibly fun and groundbreaking. fuck all the rest.

I once tried to care some world events but failed miserably. I ended up laughing at earthquake victims. :(
