The Know-Nothing Generation

Oh no, not some more generation style psychology.
The generation thesis (be it concerning politics, ethics or skills) has been refuted many times...
Altough parents ofcourse influence their *****ren, I don't think you can generalise it in this way.

Tend to agree. We have a know nothing culture which spans multiple generations. Evidenced by the fact that we re-elected GOPers and can't even fully decriminalize weed in one of the most progressive states in our union.

Maybe it is all the *****.

The author failed to mention anything about the trend toward single parenting as being a large part of the problem with young people these days. It's pretty easy math here... . . it's not 1 parent looking after her *****ren, but 2! That's 1 x 2 or twice the amount of 1.

Are there single ******* out there who have the capacity to kick ass a raise great upstanding ****, sure, but the odds are stacked against them . . . particularly in the very low income bracket areas of our society (section 8)

My ****** married a great guy but pretty doofus IMO. They had a ***...I wondered which side of the ****** the *** would get her smarts from until I watched her stand at a door and try to turn the bolt the wrong way for what seemed a couple of minutes.

I mean, the thing unlocks one of 2 ways. You'd think the wrong guess would have dawned on her and prompted her to at least try the opposite way.

Sadly, little doofus 'Jr.' had to be rescued from the ****** of the ****er deadbolt.:(

I think it's a combination of things, but it's pretty evident that **** in the US anyway are getting less disciplined, more violent, and a lot dumber. The factors are numerous, but I'll take a shot:

- Parents not being tough enough on the (PC effect?)
- Perception that technology has removed the need to think
- Mobile technology creating **** that can't concentrate for more than 5 seconds on one thing
- No shame whatsoever at looking stupid; in fact, it's now worshiped and encouraged
- Result of genetics? (see the movie Idiocracy for reference... smart people are not concerned in the post-modern age with reproduction as much)

I am a failure to the Korean side of my ******
The know nothing generation is all about...huh...oh wait a minute look at the kitty....huh what was I saying?

I blame modern medicine. More morons are growing up to have even more moronic ****. Nature would have weeded some of these defective fucks out of the gene pool.

Just think of how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of them are more stupid than that.- George Carlin

***** worship.
re living your *****hood through your *****ren.
being your *****s buddy before being their parent, no discipline
political correct bullshit.

those usually come from the ones who have time for their ****

total lack of guidance, discipline or attention and negative role models.
that usually comes from the welfare more **** equals more money people.

and others have very little or no time for their **** thanks to inflation and excessive taxation, theyre too busy working to maintain the roof over their heads to be an influence in their **** life.

parents of the past:

there are tons of morons in the world... tons!
we once had a guy at work who couldn't pull the key out of the door lock after opening it because he turned it back too far and you can only remove it if you return it to its normal (horizontal) position... exactly like ever other lock in the world.
so i showed him how to do it... and then again the next day. then i gave up and i now open it myself each morning.

It will only get worse. Heck, just cut the power cord to the TV and that will solve a good bit of problems. But since TV has become a digital nanny for *****ren, how dare I make such a comment!

**** have no real necessary reason for a cell phone except for early status of I'm better than you, look what I have mentality. Same goes for most teens.

Schools are nothing but social/breeding grounds. As well as the majority of the vocabulary being: like, um, you know, whateva, dc, idc, and OMG!

**** with texting acronyms and abbreviations are reverting to hieroglyphics instead of a standard form of communication. There is a commentary of our society.

I remember an article about how ****/teens don't know how to write in cursive; as well as most adults due to texting, emailing, computers, and instant messaging.

I'm not going to get into a whole thing about this because you will either agree or not.

But did the GOP really have to come up in this discussion? Jeez.

Interesting you chose not to simply ignore the post or add it's creator to your ignore list ...but since we're here now, the No. 1 reason why it came up is because of Bachmann, Palin, etc.... The No. 2 reason why it came up is because there are different people who've commented in the thread who have different opinions. That was but one.:2 cents:

I probably got pretty lucky to be born from intelligent people and to have a ****** that believed in discipline and ass whooping, which I never had to get because I acted right in the first place. Being stupid and having no common sense wasn't an option for me.

(Sadly that didn't seem to do much for me because am barely making it and I see dumber, lazier, and less worth people that are more successful pretty much everywhere I look. Maybe that's part of the problem. We have a society where stupidity and laziness isn't really a detriment if one has influence, money, or is just lucky and we have people that can get ahead by screwing others over and exploiting them so the incentive to not be stupid and unwise is greatly lessened. Just look at most of our politicians and our elite as proof although it also happened at everyplace I have ever worked even at people working down at my level.)

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Flawed assumptions of todays society:
Newer is better.
You get what you pay for.
Don't question the man.

Intelligence isn't genetically given. There have already been multiple research projects on this. One involved giving a group of 100 **** every week in their very young years certain lessons and challenges.
All those **** had IQ's of higher then 120 and all reached top university's when they were older, the control group was just scattered all over the place.
Ergo: your intelligence is formed in your young years. Your parents still have a huge influence, but you can get intelligent when they aren't and the reversed.

It's kinda funny you somehow that you see it as an injustice that your self-proclaimed intelligence doesn't automatically mean social succes. The world's unfair, just deal with it. As an intelligent person you should be able to find more ways to the top. (That doesn't mean that those ways will be easier or already crowded by other people.)

soon i will be the smartest man alive...or at least the most capable, oh and coming from a ****** with two parents who teach i can tell you that parents almost never accept the blame for their *****'s failures
