Report: RNC spent $2,000 at sexually themed nightclub with topless dancers

Finance documents show that the Republican National Committee spent nearly $2,000 last month at "a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex."

That is one of the many incredible expenditures reported by The Daily Caller, a conservative Web site. The Daily Caller's piece outlines the high-spending ways of RNC Chairman Michael Steele. Steele, the former lieutenant governor of
Maryland, has spent much of his first year as RNC chief fending off controversy — and the latest Federal Elections Commission filings on the group's expenditures are sure to send him back into damage-control mode. According to The Daily Caller, two sources say he floated the possibility of the RNC buying him a private jet. He also spent tens of thousands of dollars at luxury hotels in Washington, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, and the RNC spent $17,000 on chartered flights and $12,000 on limousines in February alone, according to the FEC reports.

:rofl2:

And the beat goes on..... I guess we should view these sexual expenditures as a step in the right direction away from the normal GOP sex interests....;)

What's wrong with being sexy?

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee spent $1,946 last month at a sex-themed Hollywood club that features topless dancers and bondage outfits. Now the GOP wants its money back.

Listed in a monthly financial report, the amount is itemized as expenses for meals at Voyeur West Hollywood.

RNC spokesman Doug Heye said Monday the committee doesn't know the details of how the money was spent, all who may have attended or the nature of the outing, except to say it was an unauthorized event and that the expenditure was inappropriate.

The RNC will be reimbursed by Erik Brown of Orange, Calif., the donor-vendor who billed the committee for the club visit, Heye said.

Brown did not respond to an e-mail and phone message seeking comment. The transaction was first reported by the Daily Caller.

Since November, the RNC has paid Brown's company, Dynamic Marketing Inc., about $19,000 for printing and direct-mail services, campaign spending reports show. He has contributed several thousand dollars to the party.

well boys will be boys.
if the taxpayers footed the bill then i think whoever was responsible should be fired and perhaps hung ,drawn and quartered for treason.

at least marion barry was using his own money with the hooker and for the crack when he got busted, of course he was fired then re-elected the next term.
Clinton also had his share of sexual accusations as govna and all he got was elected PREZ.
my point is that theres corruption and mis-use of tax money in both partys, and its wwwwrong.

:cool:This wasn't taxpayer funds. It is donations made to the RNC through the GOP from "hard working" GOPer rank and file.:2 cents:

yeah, thats almost as bad, the only difference is that this money was given voluntarily.
another reason not to donate sadly to almost any cause.
most of the donations just get stolen or ******.

lets just keep an open mind and acknowledge that this happens in both partys, whether its on strippers or extravagant stuff, it just makes the news more often when its the repubs.

fair enough right?

I am sure that the RNC has an "entertainment " budget.

Probably not the wisest place to spend it but those involved will reimburse the money and there will probably be resignations.

Mostly the evangelicals will be pissed. But it makes me want to donate a little extra to them this year. :D

It makes the news when it is news. It is news when a political organization takes money donated and spend on something like it was allegedly spent on here.

It is especially news worthy when said organization represents that they are and those who presumably have donated the funds are explicitly against such things as those it likely supported in this latest fiasco.

Corruption is not party nor ideology specific...but hypocrisy has seemed to have found itself a home with so called conservatives.:2 cents:

Why include the middle man in these tough times? Just go spend the money on you and buddies you (actually) know to see a lesbo strip show for yourselves.:dunno:

Michael Steele is a single guy and he and some of his buddies like looking at naked women.

And I don't see anything wrong with it.

I'd rather they spend my contributions on this than a 30 second tv spot that I have heard time and time again.

Is this some of the outrage you have been speaking about lately?

If I were to become pissed about this it would definitely be faux oUtrage.

 Lemme get this straight <chuckle>...you are saying you have no problem with the RNC using donations at strip clubs (the accusation wasn't on Steele specifically) rather than what it was intended for???

Like I said, there is no square notion too absurd that GOPers find themselves in that some of you won't beat to fit and paint to match in a round hole.
