I realize I may well be the only person that posts here, but I find myself talking to myself fairly often.

Phil is not "cheating' this week.

I'm rooting for Steve Stricker at the LA Open.........he's a good Big 10 guy.

Problem with that prediction is that he never plays the week before a major and Memphis is steaming in June while Monteray is cool (at best).

If he came back for the US Open I would think he would play two weeks before the Open here at the Memorial.

However, I think he will play at Arnold Palmer's Tourny at Bay Hill to get ready for the Masters.

Rumor has it that he is coming back a lot sooner than that:

Premium Link Upgrade

He'll most certainly be back at least a few tournaments before the Masters. He won't miss a chance to vie for the green jacket. Besides, he's a professional golfer in his prime and now he really needs the money after losing all those sponsorships. He's got to be itching to get back on the golf course and he should as soon as possible.

He could be itching for other reasons.

The Heckling by the galleries will be immense. People will look for their 15 min of Fame by being arrested or kicked out of the first tourney he shows up to play at. "TONIGHT ON NBC--THE TIGER WOODS HECKLERS SPEAK TO US FIRST!!"

Has he really shown any commitment to his marriage and ******? A week at some sex spa in Mississippi -- Meh. Wouldn't it be more believable if he moved to Sweden with Elin for 3 months or so? She just bought that huge house...I guess she be putting it back on the market :dunno:

Pebble Beach is gorgeous. I had the good fortune to be able to walk out of the clubhouse and stand on the 18th green a number of years ago. The views are fantastic.

Also, the 17-mile drive in Monterrey is spectacular....do it if you ever get the chance.

:1orglaugh

Pebble Beach and the Monteray penninsula has to be the beautiful place on earth.

I agree.
And it's not too far up the road from me.
I've played Pebble six times, Spyglass twice and Cypress Point once. It's hard to put any course above Pebble, but Cypress is like a shrine to the golf gods. It's as close to perfect as any golf course I've ever seen, including Augusta National.

Yes!

I lot of people say Pebble is the SECOND best course on the Peninsula.

Alistair McKenzie sure created some gems....Cypress, Augusta, Ohio State University Scarlet course.....

Anyway. Match play final four: Ian Poulter vs Sergio Garcia and Paul Casey vs Camilo Villegas

Didn't he though?
He was an amazing talent :hatsoff:

Have you played the OSU course?
Aside from one semi ******* :o encounter with the back nine at Harbour Town I've never played golf east of the Rocky Mountains. Hope to one day.

I hope this year a Canadian manages to win a couple big tournaments this year. Weir winning in 2003 was kind of the highlight for Canadians; we need something else!

I don't think Tiger will ever need money ever again. Unless he keeps on getting divorced.

Congratulations to Ian Poulter.
A little divine intervention helps. I still can't believe Jaidee's putt on the 18th hole in the quarter finals didn't go in.
Love the match play championship. Other than the majors it's my favorite tourney to watch.

Are there any up and comers from Canada on tour?
Weir's a heck of a player, and a great guy. Don't see him contending for a major this year, but ya never know.

Holy ****!

Since when did the Phoenix Open become the "Waste Management Phoenix Open"???

Could there be a more perfect example of the runaway corporatization of America?

Oh I played both the Scarlet and Gray courses all the time. I have only played there a few times since my college days though.

I haven't played many courses in the West. Several in Phoenix and a few in Seattle, but that's it!

I am even more sure of it now than I was a month ago.

It is close enough to home that he can drive to the tournament. That way he keeps Elin from wondering what he is doing.

He reportedly practiced 9 hours a day this week with his good friends Steve Stricker and Charles Howell III.

Steve Stricker just committed to playing Bay Hill. (A tournament he usually does not play)

Looks like Tiger will end up missing both Bay Hill as well as the Tavistock cup in the following weeks. Understandable that he wants to make sure he has his game as good as he can possibly get it before getting back to playing competitive golf. First time in his professional career that he will miss Bay Hill, that's a bit of a bummer. Also, the Tavistock cup is played at Isleworth, the community that Tiger lives in, so its kind of odd to see him turn down the opportunity to play in an exhibition, with little pressure as far as winning is concerned. Although, I understand his motives, and the crew at Agusta will be more easily able to manage the circus that will be Tiger's return to professional golf. I, for one, wish him well. What's good for Tiger is good for the PGA is good for the game of golf in general.
