Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin will resign as governor of Alaska and not run for re-election, US media have reported.

When she didn't make herself Sen. Ted Stevens's replacement and leave little Alaska for Big Bad Washington D.C., I thought was a strange decision by her.

There were rumors about her wanting to be "the next Oprah" :dunno: I guess maybe that's what she wants to do now?

This resignation finishes her career politically....but opens up "Hollywood"...

I can see her running some charity for special-needs *****ren from Anchorage (Nobody cares about "Jerry's ****" anymore - or even knows what that means, but what about "Sarah's ****"??) or maybe DC. And then 8-10 years down the road there will be a big fraud court case, with her and Todd bilking contributors for millions, with little to none of the money going to research or to help any *** other than her own. Palin will commit suicide in prison.

She's told her friends that she's leaving politics. By what she did today, even her supporters admit that she's likely shot herself in the groin.

I've said since early on that Palin is the Danica Patrick of politics: all show and very little go. How could you take someone seriously when they claimed to be a conservative, but didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was? And she said she was a "fiscal conservative", but she imposed a windfall profits tax on oil companies? And lying about going on foreign trade missions?! She constantly ducked important functions and lied about where she was - even within the past few months. There was just SO MUCH about this twit that screamed fake & fraud.

My guess is she'll write some books and make a boatload of money, being famous just for being famous: just like Danica Patrick.

I think *politically*--when she bashed "spread the wealth" on the campaign trail, but went out and continued the Alaska Big Oil "citizen revenue check distribution policy," that she had fucked herself politically.
