Im from a small city in east los angeles called el monte - and ever since the atlanta games in 96' our olympic claim to fame has been a local girl - now, woman - named Kim Rhode who's one of the greatest female shooters in the world - haha - my *** only recently pointed out the irony of - 'it figures we'd be known for being good at guns.' Nevertheless, Kim Rhode (who by the way is a white woman and not a bald headed 'cholo') delivered again, winning a silver medal just a few days ago...once again making all of us here in el monte very proud...after every olympics some kind of event - picnic or parade - is held in her honor and she usually wears ALL of the olympic medals she has won around her neck- i remember after the atlanta games, the first time she won, she recieved a heroes welcome at a local park and she even let all the **** take pictures holding her medals - it was pretty cool to see the medals up close and personal...by now i think she's got at least seven or eight...anyways kudos to Kim and team USA.
Does anyone else out there have any athletes from your hometown competing in the beijing games? Any of them win medals so far?
