They said that the director of security, a couple security guards, and some nurses were fired. What's that gonna do? Their replacements are still not gonna give a rat's ass, not to mention the other current staff members who couldn't care less. They're also gonna have to check the waiting room every half hour. The one security guard in the video checked in a few times, didn't he?
This just reeks of lawsuit!
Nah, I think that smell you're perceiving is me. I didn't shower yesterday. :1orglaugh
What does the Bush administration have anything to do with this? It's something that's clearly a matter of the hospital's internal ineptitude. Blaming Bush for what happened on the video is the same thing as me blaming Dave Thomas because a cashier at the local Wendy's was an asshole to me.Thats inexcusable and disgusting.. I can't believe this type of **** happens in the USA!! that makes the bush admin. look even more inept to domestic issue's.. very sad.. and it truly shameful to all that are responsible when things like that!!! :dunno:
"I think it reflects deficiencies in the human character," he said, pointing to historical examples in which bystanders stood by as tragedies unfolded.
Oh bullshit. The reason why bystanders dont do anything in America is because the completely fucked legal system.. and especially when pertaining to medical treatment..would sue the complete-utter-**** out of anyone if they could. They want to wag fingers and assign blame... well fuck that!
Being in the medical field was a complete waste of my life some years ago. So much red tape, so many things you werent allowed to do, such a fear of a lawsuit or losing your credentials in civilian life..
Honestly, America brought this upon itself. It's perfectly legit to point fingers at the administration for ignoring the obvious issues our medical system has. Outrageous costs, ludicrous requirements and contradiction everywhere you turn.
This kind of incident isn't what really matters when evaluating the American health care system. And after all, the LATimes article only mentions two such incidents, so that's not bad, PLUS the LA incident involved (apparently) Spanish-speakers, so if you can't explain to the 911 operator why your girlfriend is being ignored at the hospital while she's laying on the ER waiting room floor, ******** *****, then you can't really expect to have your needs met, can you???
No, what really matters is that REAL Americans never have to wait even 10 minutes for any kind of procedure or operation. We can't have waiting lists!!! We don't want to end up like THE CANADIANS!!
Anyway...this story is insane. Did I get that right, that the Rodriguez woman was actually taken from the hosp. in a cop car, and then died afterward?? What the hell !!??

As for the whole "REAL Americans" comment, I'm pretty sure that one's coming back to bite you in the ass, unless you were being sarcastic (it only just occurred to me that you might have been).
