I remember this well from last year.This is really a tragedy and a scandle.How is it that the US spends double what other countries do on health care and this kind of thing goes on? Insurance companies ,HMOs' suck up to much of the money for profits is the answer.Universal not for profit health care system is the needed reform.We will get it,it's inevitable but till then some will suffer as this story shows.

They said that the director of security, a couple security guards, and some nurses were fired. What's that gonna do? Their replacements are still not gonna give a rat's ass, not to mention the other current staff members who couldn't care less. They're also gonna have to check the waiting room every half hour. The one security guard in the video checked in a few times, didn't he?

What does the Bush administration have anything to do with this? It's something that's clearly a matter of the hospital's internal ineptitude. Blaming Bush for what happened on the video is the same thing as me blaming Dave Thomas because a cashier at the local Wendy's was an asshole to me.

I had a teacher in high school whose *******-in-law was sued because he saw a man get hit by a car, and he went over to help the man. As a result of the accident, the man's leg was amputated. He promptly sued everyone involved in the accident, including my teacher's *******-in-law because he was, technically, a "first responder" to the accident. What the fuck? You try to help somebody who just got hit by a car, and he ends up suing you for it? That's a load of bullshit, but it's the reason why people don't just help others anymore.
This kind of incident isn't what really matters when evaluating the American health care system. And after all, the LATimes article only mentions two such incidents, so that's not bad, PLUS the LA incident involved (apparently) Spanish-speakers, so if you can't explain to the 911 operator why your girlfriend is being ignored at the hospital while she's laying on the ER waiting room floor, ******** *****, then you can't really expect to have your needs met, can you???

When I responded before I had goggled the words "Martin Luther *******" 1st as I do remember that is what this hospital has been called by the locals in LA.I didn't find that on goggle but I did find an original story on this case that cited numerous deaths similar to this at this hospital.
And to people who say you can't blame Bush or other politicians for the health care system we have I would ask why not? If they are the ones supporting the current system blocking universal health care then blaming them seems fair to me.While bad things may happen even under universal care the evidence is clear from the other countries who have it which one results in better care for the majority overall.

Most cities have just one ER with a couple doctors, so take a number and hope that you don't get yourself in a life-threatening situation on the other side of town.

Anybody working in a hospital doesn't need to speak to a patient to know that lying on the floor ******** ***** is not a good sign. The minute she fell from her chair she should have been attended to, if only to get her off the floor.

As for the US health system, people back home ask me about it all the time, and I just tell them, here in this great country, people die because they can't afford a doctor. It's sad.

A) people don't get help when they are pratically dying!!!
B) not only did the lady die... nobody in the hospital did anything to help the lady just to exagerate the point that nobody gave a fuck!!
