You have almost as much risk hooking up with a random chick in the bar or club. The pornstars (a) take herpes suppressing meds, (b) are aware of their herpes and (c) are generally very very clean. Same with prostitutes in some places.

But I'm also willing to bet that in Amsterdam, where there are well policed areas, with red safety buttons, and prison sentences, and no way out for offenders, the prostitutes (just like they have told me) are extremely safe and well protected. It's not the profession that is horribly unsafe, it is the fact that it is *******, criminalized, and underground.

In Holland, they have one of the lowest **** rates in the world. The fact that prostitution is so cheap and legal cannot be discounted as a factor in that.

The problem with a lot of those ^^^ statistics and facts is that there's no context for them. They don't define what they mean when they refer to "prostitutes." For example, if you looked at the number of "prostitutes" who've reported being ***** (or believed to have experienced ****) in Nevada, you'd end up with a pretty high figure. If you look at just those that are legal (i.e., in the brothels), the rate would be extremely low. So, without any context, the facts and figures in those pages really don't demonstrate a valid point, other than presenting the fact that, as most everyone knows, prostitution on the whole is full of people who shouldn't be there, who've been ******, etc.

You can take any pool of women, regardless of the profession they are in, and there'll be a HIGH number of those who report having been ***** or ******. At a minimum, in any give pool of 100 women, some 40-50% of them have been ***** or sexually ******, in the U.S. Those figures are higher in some places, lower in others. Being ***** (beaten, ******, etc.), sadly, is pretty much a part of the job with being a streetwalker. In places where it is *tightly* regulated, such as Nevada, there is far less of that. Prostitution is legal and taxed in places like Amsterdam, but there's nowhere near the regulation of it that occurs in Nevada.

That is -17% of women in their entire lives. And that includes attempted **** as well as ****. Whereas prostitutes (usually) only ****** for a small fraction of their lives.
