When discussing movies, i notice a lot of dumb fuckers say "I didn't like that film... it had subtitles"

not when watching a movie. thats the reason movies were created. so one would not have to read.

Yeah but if a movie is good, then it's good. How can subtitles ruin a film?...
I prefer seeing people talking in their correct language. Eg, if two russian blokes are talking, i wanna hear um speak Russian, and not English with a Russian accent. :2 cents:

for me, its because the words on screen divert my attention from the people. then i feel like i missed something. this is why i dont watch many foreign movies.
Logically you would think that's true, but for some reason when I read sub-titles, I never notice it or I can follow the action in the movie just as well. Sometimes I will even forget I'm even reading them. :dunno:

I **** it when people (nitwits) dismiss a movie because it's in black and white or because the movie was made before 1980 and is therefore shitty. I got into an argument once with someone who said Adam Sandler was a greater(!!!!!) comic genius than Charlie Chaplin....because Chaplin's movies were in black and white!!!!

I have to agree, its a point of frustration with me also. Some of the greatest movies ever I watched on Sat. afternoon or lazy Sunday morning early with my *** and ***. Most were old to even to them at that time. Classics rule!! I mean 12 angry men against the remake? The latter couldn't compare.
Comic genius also to me is in the writing of not the presenting of, although physical comedy is indeed a art of its own. Carol Burnett, Jerry Lewis and John Ritter for example. Enter the resources and the timeline, some things based on "when" they were done knock others out of the water in being ahead of their time.
Sorry *blushes* Some posts just motivate me. Issues that touch my life and bring passion forth are so few here .
