Uh .. how does the rep system work? Do you .. get credits, for .. likes / loves, on posts? If so, then keep it. It rewards posts / content others like.
Credits are used to buy FreeOnes merchandise (such as FreeOnes mugs, T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) - you can also use them to purchase FreeOnes photo galleries and FreeOnes videos in the My-FreeOnes section outside this forum.
You don't get credits at all. Nothing. Back in the day, you received a daily credit for logging into the forum but that is a totally different matter.
To bring this back on topic ...
Right now, you get rep points just for posting ... (which is useless and serves no purpose other than tallying all of it up in a list in the members area.) ...

See the post above mine - # 17 - where I awarded Steve a like ...
Give love the recipient gets 5 points. Give a smile/laugh the recipient get 2 points. Give a like (thumbs-up) the recipient gets 1 point. Give a dislike (thumbs-down) it takes 1 point away. Give a blank (shite) takes 5 points away. Give a sad, wow, or angry those are neutral and 0 points are awarded.
Let us still be able to mark things how we want, but remove the points associated with them and the reaction scores
SJ handed out tons of rep because he was nice. I do it in appreciation of posting the content I like so it's all here in 1 place rather than me having to go out and find it all over the place. And Gmase does it for the Andi content.
Thanks
@ban-one for being honest here. And this is from the FreeOnes member who has most of the rep here. Number # 1 on the list.
If FreeOnes took the points away and got rid of this tally list. I'd certainly be happy with that.
Probably the best answer in this thread other than
@Steve-FreeOnes call to be civil in here.
I think the rep system is a great idea to incentivize people into making purchases if they can use rep points to buy stuff. As a partial payment. Like use 300 credits and pay $5.00 to get something that costs more. Japanese sites we produce for offer incentives to customers and owners to offer discounts 5-10-20-30% on individual purchases. Owners can set the level of discount they authorize. Reps help people posting figure out what is popular and what isn't. As long as its accurate. I'm not aware of the recent issues with the rep system though.
That's a good idea. However, right now as I was stating, the rep system does not
quantify these rep points into purchases. You don't get anything out of them. Nothing.
Perhaps wait to change anything until the membership issues are resolved. Then you will know how many people you have and let them help decide. Until then the rest of us are just rearranging the atmosphere.
Good answer. It might just be best to wait.
