Phil has posted about it various times. He was pissed as hell. If she'd wanted to do a big reveal, they could have promoted the fuck out of it - at the time their forum had lots of traffic and participation, the whole solo-girl model scene was at pretty much near its peak - it would have been huge business. Instead she just goes and does that with no follow-up that could have been monetized on her site. I think that incident pretty much ****** their relationship.
It was pretty controversial because at that time there was a ton of NN models and lots of them were making the jump out of NN material. Nikki was (and still pretty much is IMO) the queen of that industry and was always really adamant that she wasn't comfortable doing topless material. Then she randomly shows up on Springer flopping her boobs around everywhere like it's no big thing. It felt very hypocritical that she could be so strong willed on staying non-nude to her paying members, then go on Springer to give them what her fans have been begging for; for nothing. Hell Phil likely could have sold zips of that bad influence set at that time for $100 a pop and have easily gotten it.
As a content producer and promoter of the NDN franchise Mr. Flash had every right to be upset. His talent went on national TV and gave away for free what he could have charged huge sums of money for! People would have happily paid for that material too. Had Nikki thought this through at the time she could have had a good pay day as well!
That was in the era before tube sites and large image hosting companies were common. Finding content for 'free' was harder back then and one needed to be a bit tech savvy to find it. Basically most people had to pay for porn so a topless NDN photo set or video would have garnered a good price.

Alright people....I've had email exchanges with Nikki on why she did it. Here's the summary...you can email her or Joey lizzard hands yourself to confirm I'm not making this up:
- Peer pressure from friends and boyfriend who were at the taping. She didn't plan on going topless when she went to springer
- Was not a publicity stunt
- Regrets it. She went on how she should have never done it and it was a huge mistake.
People need to let up on this. Let's just be glad she did it so we have some form of additional topless.

That's how I remember her reaction too. The other thing she said was that it was a fun, spur of the moment thing. As you say, let's just be glad she did it.
Yea I didn't mean to sound like I was coming down on Nikki for it. It's water under the bridge TBH. I just remember pretty well when that went down on the NN boards way back when, I was a part of that forum traffic. We probably all just wish she would have just gone topless after that episode.
