2 out of 3 Americans support Mueller's investigation

Trump's attacks backfire: Big majorities back Mueller and Sessions, while president's disapproval hits 60%, new poll says

Nearly two-thirds of American adults support Mueller's ongoing investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 U.S. presidential election, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Friday.
Sixty percent of Americans now disapprove of Trump's job as president, a new high for the poll, according to the Post.
A 64 percent majority of Americans believe Trump should not fire Attorney General Sessions, as well.

President Donald Trump's attacks on special counsel Robert Mueller and Attorney General Jeff Sessions don't appear to be sinking in.

Nearly two-thirds of American adults support Mueller's ongoing investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 U.S. presidential election, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Friday.
A majority of respondents – 52% — say they "strongly" support Mueller's probe.
29% said they oppose it.

There's also bad news for Trump's lawyers, who reportedly argued in a memo to Mueller that it's impossible for Trump to illegally obstruct justice, as more than half of Americans disagree.
53% say they think Trump attempted to interfere in Mueller's investigation in a manner that amounted to obstruction of justice.

It's a discouraging poll for Trump, whose regular talking points about the Mueller probe seem to be garnering more opposition than support among majorities of American adults. It also highlights the mounting pressure Trump faces from Democratic candidates hoping to retake the House of Representatives in the November midterm elections. Democrats have maintained a steady lead in generic ballot polls.

That appears to be taking a toll on Trump's overall approval rating, as well. 60% of Americans now disapprove of Trump's job as president, a new high for the poll, according to the Post. Just 36% approve of Trump's job performance; 24% say they "strongly" approve.

The poll reflects sharp partisan divides over Sessions, the Mueller probe and Trump's handling of the presidency. But independents also tended to back Mueller and Sessions by significant margins.
Recent polling in general also suggests that Mueller has regained the upper hand in the public's perception of Trump's battle with the special counsel. Americans' disapproval of Mueller had been on the rise, but that appears to have reversed following a new wave of revelations about Trump associates – and as the president and his surrogates have beefed up their attacks on Mueller.

The Washington Post-ABC poll, conducted Aug. 26-29 from a random national sample of 1,003 adults, also shows a significant dip in Trump's approval compared with other recent surveys.
Polling from NBC News and The Wall Street Journal published Aug. 26, for instance, showed Trump's approval at 44 percent among registered voters.

That number also showed a decline from previous surveys, but it was largely attributed to legal bombshells relating to former associates in Trump's orbit, including his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was convicted on tax and bank fraud charges lodged by Mueller.
Political data site RealClearPolitics currently gives Trump an average approval rating of about 43%.

Although Trump has regularly berated Sessions for handing the reins of the Russia investigation over to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein by recusing himself, 62% of Americans take Sessions' side over Trump's on the issue of Mueller's probe.

Sessions recused himself shortly after failing to disclose in confirmation hearings his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Trump has not fired Sessions, who was among his earliest supporters in Congress during the 2016 campaign, but has instead chosen to repeatedly criticize the top Justice Department official in interviews and on Twitter. He told Bloomberg News on Thursday that Sessions was safe in his job until at least the November elections.

A clear 64% majority of Americans believe Trump should not fire Sessions. But surprisingly, far more Democrats than Republicans think Trump should keep Sessions, a former GOP senator, in his job: 75% of Democrats say Trump should not fire him, compared with 47% of Republicans.

Aside from his 35% of his immovable base, an overwhelming majority of Americans disapproves Trum's performance, support Mueller's investigation and side with Sessions. And, given that 47% of Republicans saying Trump shouldn't fire Sessions, it seems that, even among his base a pretty large chunck of them (althought not the majority) think so and that is certainly not good news for Trump...

Your soy boy president can hardly keep his approval numbers out of the 20’s and you are talking about Trump’s approval numbers.

The Bezos Gazette polls in Northern Virginia and Maryland and they have a track record of over sampling Democrats by at least 10 points.

Oops.

Democrat liberal newspapers such as cnbc don't matter and never will. The only site when it comes to polls is Rasmussen http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...p_administration/trump_approval_index_history
Last to date 48% approve Trump 50% disapprove Trump, time to cut off the mainstream medias bs

Add to this that most Republicans want to shut down Mueller's witch hunt so your poll is wrong and bs too

To be more accurate:

PPP surveyed 572 registered voters for the poll, which carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percent.

In other findings:

26 percent of Republicans said they'd find Mueller's report credible if it finds that any campaign member or associate was involved in Russian interference;
71 percent said they would not find it credible;
49 percent said former campaign manager Paul Manafort's conviction makes Mueller's investigation less credible;
30 percent of Republicans think Trump should pardon Manafort;
38 percent say Trump should not pardon Manafort;
32 percent were not sure if Trump should pardon him.
90 percent of Republicans and 94 percent of independents said not even the president is above the law;
46 percent of independents have a favorable opinion of Mueller, compared to 36 percent for Trump.

The only credible poll site is the one that has always been more favorable to Republicans than any other (and has a link to an article titled "17 reasons why Ivanka is a positive role-model for women", talk about bias...) how convenient.
And even according ot their pole, Trump's approval rating is -2% (and has never been positive since March '17 http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/current_events/politics/prez_track_aug31 )

The truth, even according to Republican biased polling organisations, a majority of Americans disapproves Trump

2/3 of liberals/Obama devotees support Mueller's investigation should have been the title of your thread. Rasmussen has always been spot on polls and isn't biased unlike mainstream medias who are Obama muppets. The majority of liberals disapprove Trump but stop speaking for the others. The mainstream medias were making all their bets on Hillary and they got canned, so the mainstream medias, they better shut the fuck up and stop acting like a disgrace.

And the more the evil clown in chief is pushing his growing insane scenarios and exploits his position, it's getting worse.

And the further the formerly just easy-to-buy GOP follows him and stands by his positions, the deeper they will fall.

So, in a way, I enjoy them defending the undefendable

You defend despicable people such as mueller, rosenstein and their acolytes who are making a witch hunt on the behalf of the democrats with a crooked and corrupt doj and fbi personnel, that is more undefendable than anything else . You seem have forgotten that the starter of the Steele dossier was Obama.

The Steele dossier is BS, it's a maade-up story cooked by GOP as a diversion from Mueller's investigations

Rod Rosenstein was appointed by Trump, are you pretending Trump appointed a liberal a as Deputy Attorney General who then appointed another liberal to Special Counsel ? If yes, it means the only person to blame about this is Trump : Due to his poor judgement on people, he brought that on himself.

Maybe I should remember who were Obama devotees
