Yoga

Hey all!

I have this burning question. A few girls from my office are actively persuading me to go to yoga classes with them. Sounds interesting, but I'd hate to be the only male there. I am just curious, is yoga for girls only or am I being too shy really?

Yoga, which is generally practiced by general populace is a combination of Asana (Posture/freehand-exercise), Pranayama (Breathing Exercise/Techniques) & Dhyan (Meditation). This purportedly gives you better health. This can be practiced by both male & female like any other exercise. You can join it and will benefit from this exercise. One line of caution: All exercises can not be undertaken when you are feeling sick.

Both dd & I practice it. So there, :D

I personally think Yoga is great and meditation a must. It does promote better health through relief of stress if nothing else. Stress of course being a large contributor in the equations of certain heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. It certainly isn't for females only and is good for children also. Helps them to learn to focus and to relax also. You will probably also notice work productivity increase as well as just plain feeling better.

I'd do yoga if i...... Cared.

But it is a very good way of staying in good health, so i recommend doing it.

Plus the fact that girls from work want you to go? That's a great way to impress them ;)

Yoga is great. It's a good physical workout because you have to hold the various poses, and it's great for flexibility and balance. It also helps you to clear your head, leading to the enhanced focus and reduced stress levels mentioned by previous posts. You'll become better at blocking things out in your everyday life (such as at work) and concentrating on the task at hand.

As for the question of yoga being for girls, a lot of men do it. You shouldn't worry about it being 'for girls only'. If you want to do it, do it.

I don't see why you can't do it. At the very least it should improve your flexibility. Plus having nothing but ladies around you has to be a plus.

One more thing I should have said yesterday. There are male and female specific Yogas. Don't try a female specific one. Then there are some those are age specific. Ask the instructor. He/She will be the best person to guide you. Don't try them on your own, just by reading a book. It may harm you, instead of benefiting you.

Amazing fact about Yoga, I myself practise yoga 3 times a week. I had done a Yoga class which lasted a week. Yoga Teacher taught us some amazing postures and breathing techniques. They are the best stress busters I've experienced till now.

I have practiced yoga for two years. I love it; I feel better physically and mentally.

yoga is for anyone who's into it but my warning is this: if you are interested in any of these chicks i promise you will hear some farts come flying out of them and that you will fart in front of them too...i know it sounds silly but gas is a fact in yoga, so if that worries you i'd decline

Yoga is amazing. You're going to get to that class only to find out that the women in your office can kick your a$$. :)

Not only is yoga good for you physically (and it really is), it is good mentally. I've been in a groove for nearly 15 years where my day begins with 45 minutes of yoga. It helps me focus throughout the day, it keeps me in great shape, and it makes me flexible enough to make sex more interesting.

Yoga - not for the likes of the weak and easily scared. But if you're really interested in getting in shape and improving your mental condition, a serious commit to yoga will pay off almost instantly.

Plus the chicks dig it.

Yes, trust me!

Go do it! What have you got to lose!

do it! it's great for you, and the girls from work will see that you're a good sport.
no doubt they'll be giggling about it when they look at you on monday morning, but it's better to have them giggle about you and talk about how you looked tryingto keep up, then to have them sneering behind your back saying you're a stuck-up douche bag.

and the fact that there might be all women in the class is a plus. just don't forget to wear a snug pair of boxer briefs under your shorts, or you'll be displaying your 'wood' for the entire class.

Yoga of girls... you are there to watch... this is a spectator sport...:nanner:

I try to do it on days when I don't "work out"... it's a great stretch routine and helps with core strength and flexibility.

Plus it's hot to watch girls do :)

PS- Warning... it's harder than it appears to be!
