Wtf?

I uploaded a gif file. Quite non descript, no markings from other websites etc. I was planning to use it to ask others to ID the girl in the pic. I thought I'd wait a while for it to be approved and then post the message.

When I looked later on, it was gone. No attachments there at all.

Whats going on?!?

PS Oh - if for some reason it was not approved, how do I find out why? No messages in my inbox, nothing!

I don't see where you created a thread for the ID or where you attached a pic in a post. Where did you upload it? What thread? You only have 4 posts to your credit and I found nothing :dunno:

As I said, I didn't post the ID thread. I was waiting for the uploaded pic to be approved. In profile tools there is a link all the way at the bottom of the list which says "Attachments". When I click on it, I get a page with heading "Attachments Posted by RJS".
I've heard others talk about this page, and state examples such as x MB uploaded as attachments, along with the list of attachments posted over time.

So after uploading the GIF file I used this "Attachments" screen to verify that it was uploaded, which it appeared to be. It was my understanding that the image needed to be approved, so at that point I logged out, planning to come back later and post the ID thread, once the pic had been approved.

Later on when I went to post the ID thread, the pic had been removed from my list of attachments.

If you make an attachment and you don't actually post the thread but close the window the attachment is gone too. So attach the image and submit the thread right away.
