Would you pay $59 a month for a porn site?

not naming names but just looked up one of my favorites and holy shit @ the sticker shock. $59 monthly, $69 non-recurring. Even a yearly membership amounts to $29 a month.

I know the worth of something is what someone is willing to pay for it but damn, are we facing an across-the-board price increase with porn sites?

That's a lot of money! I wouldn't do it. Even trial scripts are cheaper, (where the regular monthly price is $29.95; you get a two day pass for $4.95 which then reverts to a monthly of $39.99 if not cancelled) -- Now, if you look carefully, you can still get a 90 days recurring script in the $49.95-$59.95 price range. Though, they've tended to have gone up to the $69.95 to $79.95 price range for the ninety days.

This is a good subject for me to be looking at right now. I am almost finished with my redesign and upgraded site, including a dedicated server and unlimited bandwidth. I normally am $29.99 but am seriously considering $49.99, I've dropped 13k on this new site all together and normally I am selling videos ala carte on my clip stores for $17-$29 each, so for the guys who buy those video this is going to be a great deal. I can understand when you see the same contract girl on 50 sites not wanting to pay so much when she is everywhere to be seen, and I can certainly understand not wanting to pay to join my site when you can join sites with 500 different girls on it for half the price BUT....... Whole foods doesn't sell itself short and close the doors just cause wal mart opened up down the street, neither does Vons Ralphs Albertsons Safeway Kroger.... you get the point I'm sure. When you really think about how little it is to pay that extra 5 or 7 bucks a week fro 1 month, I don't know it doesn't seem like much to ask, it's very little to you actually but cumulatively for me it will make a huge difference by the end of the year.

HELL NO. I have always charged a flat $24.95 for my site and I could easily charge more, but I'd rather keep costs down so that I get more signups.....anything over $29.95 is a bit too much. It makes sense to charge, if we are talking about a pay site where the producer shoots all of their own content because the models need to get paid before they even think about shooting, along with hosting charges, content management system charges ....so many expenses to run and maintain a pay site. That's just how business works in the real world. I sure as hell don't pay $400.00 per month in hosting charges, along with paying the models, $150.00 per month for my members area CMS ...(among other charges) just to provide people with free porn! LOL!

But yeah, $59.00 is just a flat out fucking rip off, if you ask me. Keep costs DOWN and you'll get more signups. That's how I've always looked at it.

I can't say there is absolutely no scenario where I would pay that amount for a porn's site's membership, but I have a hard time thinking of one. The content would have to be spectacular, like guy invents a time machine and brings all my favorite adult models from the present and past together and pays them millions of dollars to do hardcore type spectacular.

I'm not sure why I'm being cryptic about it. I don't think it's bad form to simply mention what they're charging. It's no secret in fine print when you sign up. It's MetArt. I just hope this isn't a trend with other sites. Like some already offer two-teired memberships that if you want to download stuff you have to be a VIP.

Correction: it's the MetArt Network which is 9 premium sites for $59 a month. When you look at some of those sites, this isn't a bad deal at all. But you'll definitely have to be ... committed to fully enjoy it. So heck yeah, I'm signing up for a year.

So I guess the question is would you pay $59 a month for 9 premium porn sites? lol I'm an idiot.
