What's your best or worst customer service story?
Here's mine. Sorry I can't believe I forgot my own story. This is why I started the thread lolz.
You guys just hate or love how well a place is run sometimes?
I was in a store today and I saw two people talking about the new apple tablet that was going to be released into the store in the next couple of months (customer and salesman). From what I understood he was completely lying and telling the customer all the wrong information. It's not uncommon for this to happen since sales are low in many stores around here due to the recession or bad salesmanship. I'm not totally sure, but this seemed low to lie to a customer like that. There was no information anywhere saying that the apple tablet was going to have phone communication and from what I understood I was told that it wouldn't by a few online sites. I mean it's just to big and for you to use it as a regular phone up to your ear would be unheard of since it looked like a 1980 model or something huge. He said it was going to change the way we talk and do things on the internet. From what I understand also the tablet can't multi task very well and I also read that it doesn't really do it at all. I'm not an expert on the product, but it felt wrong since it hadn't been released.
I walked over and listened in a little more and started to include myself into the conversation (rude whatever, but I felt he was taking advantage of her (the customer) by lying to her). Anyways I told her to do a little research because many of the things he is saying sound untrue or false to what I heard or saw on demonstrations. He started to act like I was some dumb child since I'm 20 and he's probably 40-50 years old. He said I had no idea what I was talking about and what sold it to her that I was probably telling her the truth is I said "hey look, I don't make anything off the sale, so why would I lie to you and researching these things he sayings takes like 10 minutes at most." she said "thanks". She continued to listen to him for another two minutes before saying "I have to go now, sorry". The salesman reported me to the manager and what he told the manager was something wrong and taken way out of proportions. He said I had made him feel threatened and all this non sense. I told him I said nothing to affect his safety and he's the one that blew me off and all this non sense, but what I think he told his manager anyways is that I was costing them sales. Some managers are really dirty when it comes to sales no matter how you have to do it you get the sale.
In the end I was forced to exit the store because they called two rent a cops (security guards). The manager and the two security guards forced me to exit and said "if I ever came back to their location of business I would be arrested and charged with trespassing". It was so dumb, but whatever I wasn't going to go back since they were lying to the customer.
I'm not going to say the companies name since it's a decent company and it wasn't my usual store, but it did make me a bit frustrated. I'm going to write to cooperate and make a complaint with that store. My regular store has all my friends who work their and they never say that to a customer whenever I'm around at least. I love the company, but ya know it's just like what the f*** when it comes to this.
I'm almost tempted to go back with cooperate, but that wouldn't happen that's not how business is done either. I'm not going to snitch on the single guy, but I think it's the manager who forces this upon it's employees.
You guys can include the store if you want. I chose not to just because I have friends who work for them and personally don't want to give them a bad name since it's the one store.
