I read this great story that is basically a metaphor but the message was really nice and made me think about a lot of things:
This guy found a magic lamp and when he rubbed it the genie popped out and told him that someone else had already gotten the first 2 wishes so he only had one left to grant. The guy thought for hours and decided that money would be his best wish so he said "I wish to win the lottery" and the Genie said "very well. I will return to check on you in 6 months" and poof he disappeared.
Well after 6 months the man had not won the lottery and was so pissed and counting the days for the Genie's return. Finally the day came and sure enough the Genie appeared and the man immediately screamed at him calling him a liar. The genie asked him to calm down and smiled at him in a very amused way and said, "To win the lottery sir, you must first purchase a ticket."
I love this story and think that it applies to so many of us in so many ways...
I went to a Tony Robbins seminar last year (don't laugh!)and it really changed the way I think about many things. One of the greatest things I have ever heard was when he said that when you come to a decision in your life to do something...anything, To quit smoking or save money or take a vacation or learn to scuba dive. "When would NOW be a good time?"
Well that's my wisdom for today. I have a meeting in the Sky Club at JFK and then a flight to catch home!
Until next time...
