When you saw the title of this thread, "Wife Beaters", what was the first thing that popped into your head?

:dunno:

I just wanted to do a little experiment...

I'm watching Family Feud and the survey question was "name something that some men wear and others don't" and one of the contestants said "a wife beater". The host, to clarify any confusion, let the audience know that the contestant was referring to an undershirt.

So, I wondered how many people actually know of and/or use the term "wife beater" when they refer to the cliche, white tank-tops that (stereotypically) hillbillies wear.

FYI - For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, THIS is a wife beater.

(Yes, that is Zac Efron. You're welcome!)

Either the shirt or you were messing with us.

He does have that look and my daughter better never bring a guy like that to my home. :nono:

It's just a shirt. I don't like the term "wife beater".

Also, I don't wear them or any under shirt.

I actually first thought of a man that beats his wife, though I am familiar with the term for the shirt.

I've seen many groups other than hillbillies wearing these. They also seem popular amongst Italian and Hispanic men, at least back in Jersey.

Hmph. Never heard the term used in that context before. The shirt shown in the link is something I've always just referred to as a "tank top." I don't like them. I've long associated them with guys who like to go around showing off just how muscular they are. To me, they scream "no class" about whomever is wearing them.

Actually I saw the thread title, looked at the thread starter and thought Chef has WAY too much time on his hands. :D

Ooo, number Four! I liked it. I do have a Strawberry fetish...:rubbel: This is really working me over, damn...Chef naked on the pavement covered in Strawberry preservatives...can my fantasy really become a reality? A hot sweaty Chef covered in cool Strawberry jam. ;) I'm so hungry, and yet oddly horny by reading this post...Mmm. :D

Believe it or not, I thought of both the shirt AND the male POS who would do such a thing. I can't tell you which popped into my head first.

I'm talented. I can have many thoughts at once.
