I think hairstyles like that are pretty cool looking. I think Eva Angelnina looks insanely hot with her hair like that.
It's mostly an alt hairstyle. Personally, I don't think preppy little blonde barbies should try those things, as it's often hypocritical of them (usually girls like that are pretty discriminatory of girls with tats, piercings, interesting makeup, colored extensions, bright colored hair, etc.), but whatever.

like most styles, fashions etc it really depends on the girl. some pull it off, others don't. i just don't like the styles that everyone seems to get regardless of whether it works for them or not. like the rihanna deal with no hair in the back and crazy bangs that everyone had a few years back. it looked hot on some girls but so many had it that i got sick of seeing it.
