The writers have the correct idea. One should be paid well to be the sacred foundation upon which all movies, videos and shows are based upon.

But those movies you mention.. does anyone expect them to make any cash? Then.. the MPAA/RIAA/lawyers dont care.

what you are thinking of is called plagiarism, not piracy. piracy is generally making an unlicensed copy of an existing work and selling it for personal cash, cutting out all the people that have the rights to it and who made it in the first place from getting any share.

plagiarism is taking the work of someone else and trying to take the credit for it and pass it off to other's under the false impression that you are the creator.

It's something that only high school teachers care about. You know what I'm talking about. so to get around the rule you'd just take something that someone else did and instead of copying it word for word, you'd rearrange the words and replace them with synonyms. So that way you put no real effort into creatively exerting yourself in any way, but they couldn't make the claim that what you handed in was the exact same thing as what someone else said.

That's what these movies do.

You should see the animated ones, they are pretty funny too.
