Is it someone like Jody Jackson?
I know Lt. Jackson. He's a volunteer firefighter (like I am a volunteer paramedic) who doesn't get paid for what he does. There are no rewards - other than knowing that you helped someone when they needed you.
Everyone complains that the world is going to hell in a handbasket and all we hear on the news is ****, ******, death and carnage. I've always said that this is only half the story and that there are everyday miracles taking place... often performed by the very people you lived and grew up with.

Jody Jackson
Firefighter / Medical 1st Responder
Watson Chapel Fire Department
Pine Bluff, AR
Lieutenant Jody Jackson is a certified medical first responder of the Watson Chapel Fire Department in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Lt. Jackson is a dedicated husband and a ****** of two. Dedicating the past 10 years of his life to firefighting, Lt. Jackson one day responded to an emergency call on September 8, 2005 to find a ****** of 3 still inside a burning home. Going above the line of duty and at risk to himself, he entered the burning home and pulled the ****** out. Initiating resuscitative efforts, Lt. Jackson was able to save the ****** and 2-year-old ********. Lt. Jackson is also the Assistant Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts. He also coaches kindergarten basketball and referee games. Always striving to better his community, Lt. Jackson is a true hero of the Watson Chapel area, the state of Arkansas, and the United States.
