I don't like either one to be honest. I have Halo 1 and 2 and was bored by them. I used to like the Modern Warfare series but lack of innovation and terrible players have soured me on the COD games.

I think that Halo is a better series overall. I do like certain COD games but lately I haven't been bothered with it. I still haven't bought Black Ops 2..

Halo is probably better for you if you're more into the single player, COD is great for fairly mindless multiplayer where you can just play and have a laugh.

I prefer CoD. I'm better at it that's Halo, and it seems easier to play for hours at a time without getting a little bored. That said, I like Halo a lot and was pleasantly surprised with Halo 4 after REACH, which I found a bit lackluster. And yes CoD is far from perfect - the campers, boosters, whiners, Infinity Ward getting worse at making them while Activision gets greedier... But the core of the game is super fun, and I can still play it for hours on end, especially the TreyArch entries.

I prefer Gears Of War to both of them, though.
