I was thinking back to all the big events and news stories in my life time that I can really remember, and I thought it would be interesting for everyone else to discuss where they were and what they were doing when [insert event here] happened.

Finding out about 9/11 attacks:

Walking home from school, my neighbour sayin "You should turn on the news, theres been an airstrike in New York" which didn't make any sense to me. I turned on the news and it didn't come off for about 3 hours. Also knowing my *** was in New York at the time made it personally worrying.

Death of Diana

To be honest, I don't know why I remember this, because I couldn't give a damn. But I came down stairs one morning and my Mum said "Princess Diana has been ******" to which I replied "Who?"

That day at school (I was living in America at the time) all the other **** were ****** and coming up to me telling me how sorry they were for my "loss".

Finding out about Hunter S. Thompson was dead

"Who is that writer you like, something Timpson? Hunter Timpson? Oh, well he shot himself last night"

7am in the morning, not the **** I want to hear really. Thanks ******.

Anyway, that's just a few I can think of to get the ball rolling.

Any of you oldies who remember the moon landing or JFK, would like to hear about that
