When you go overseas to pick up girls, do your traits and features limit you?

I always wondered this. I have a friend who is White with Blonde hair and blue eyes, he says that when he went to Colombia a lot of the girls were on him like crazy. He says that some never saw a Blonde guy before and were over him like crazy, basically the opposites attract theory.

Me? Well I have Black hair and brown eyes. Pretty common and I am an Indian. And I am not attracted to my opposites at all, no attraction whatsoever period to Blondes or Redheads or White women in general.

I want to ask you guys this, does not having certain traits limit a guy from getting with women? Like lets say if an Indian guy with a US citizenship goes there but he has Black hair and brown eyes, will most of the women there just ignore him?

I haven't been overseas either except for India and when I was a child I used to live in Europe.

Edit: I should point out, after seeing Vodkas post, that I don't actually go overseas just to get women. Fortunately, it just happens anyway.

I've spent a lot of time overseas and I can tell you that your traits absolutely matter. You will either be a rockstar or an abomination depending on the country and what they view as exotic. However, I agree with the one poster who said that you shouldn't go overseas for women. If that is your reason,....don't do it. You may end up going to a country were you are a foot and not attractive in their minds. It is all in their perspective. I doubt the blonde thing was that big of a deal in Colombia. I had blonde hair when I was there and it didn't seem to make much difference.... Just do your thing.

There are women just like you: those who are attracted to men who look more like them. And there are other women who are attracted to all sorts of men. Trying to judge 50% of the population based on an anecdotal or two is pretty pointless.

But with that said, over the years, here's what I've learned about women (in general): in no particular order and in various combinations, they are attracted to personality, intelligence, looks and wealth/power (or the semblance of wealth/power).

If you have the personality of a tree, dumb as a rock, short, fat & bald and you're broke... yeah, I'd say your chances of getting a woman are severely limited - or at least your options will be severely limited. But still, there is a dog for every doghouse... you might just have to be willing to live with fleas and ticks though. :tongue:

For the most part of my life I have stayed in US, but I've been overseas either for some academic project work or on a vacation, but never with an intention to pick up girls. What girls like, is a sound personality along with looks.Looks alone wouldn't get you any where, though it's the first thing someone notices, there is always a second, third , fourth and fifth impression which might put the difference at the end.If you have other qualities like good communication skills(dead requirement as girls wouldn't hang out with someone who doesn't have an idea what he's talking about) along with a good sense of humor.Good communication doesn't mean you have to talk about yourself only without listening.It works both ways and when you talk, talk something that would interest her and you have to find out her areas of interest and talking about your family and stuffs might not help every time.When she talks, pay attention instead of pretending you do.Some girls are really clever and they might fire back with questions like, "Do you remember the name of my little sister's pet?".
Along with that, if you have some talent like being intelligent, a good at music, sports and academics too(Some girls like geeks),your qualities would overshadow your looks, but you should know how to sell yourself(not as a hooker, but with words accompanied by right action at the right place along with optimum level of confidence) and the rest would follow.
Every wondered how so many hot chiks hang out with no so good looking guys while some with godly external image strive for one?
That's where your X-factor comes into play and it includes all what's mentioned above.
