Was there ever a place you enjoyed going to where you lived that is now gone. You know the place where you and all your friends went whether it was to see bands, get a good meal, or pretty much anything.
For me it was two places that are gone. In Salem Massachusetts there was Bleachers, not only did they let me ***** ******** there, but it was a decent concert hall that was three levels. Upstairs you had a large stage and a bar were I saw bands like Hepcat, and I think the Selecter played there too. Then downstairs you had a pool hall and a larger bar, and they had some great dj's too. And finally when you went outside there was a basement bar which catered to accoustic performers.
Second place I miss was in Boston in Kenmore Square, it was called the Ratskeller or simply "The Rat". You could ***** and eat upstairs, when I was a bike messenger we would all go there after work to unwind. Then you had downstairs and some of the best punk,ska, and hardcore bands. I remember getting overly ***** and standing up on stage for the whole set of Citizen Fish's performance and pretty much got shanghied into doing all their songs.
Anyway folks what do You Miss?
