ECW just needs to die and everyone needs to move on and stop living in the past. The ECW originals are either much older or have moved on and those that haven't are just trying to live out their glory years. The original ECW wasn't that great, all they did was add fire and danger and called themselves hardcore. Some of the best matches were when they didn't use gimmicks to get over but actually used wrestling to put on a show. One of the best things about the WWE version of ECW is the fact that for that one hour they put on some pretty damn good wrestling matches.

Unfortunately they were so little of them. The first one I remember that was good was RVD vs. Hardcore Holly way back in the day, and that was months after ECW first went on the air.

I'm not saying I don't like ECW. I do like ECW (even been to a few of their shows) but that was then. When you strip away all of the gimmicks then what do you have left? Not much. A lot of pretty good talent came out of ECW but also on the flip side a lot of talent had no business in a wrestling ring. A lot of that pretty good talent used ECW as a stepping stone to get noticed by either WCW or WWE. A lot of the fans aren't chanting "ECW" because they're wrestling fans (I bet half of them have never even seen an ECW match) they're chanting "ECW" because it's the cool thing to do.

People just need to do it on Raw 24/7.

So, many things ECW did that drew fans better than either WWE or TNA.
WWE's "attitude" era was nothing compared to ECW.
I doubt you can watch one episode and not see something WWE or TNA would not allow by either the wrestlers or the fans.

But, thank God that WWECW is over. Vince was shitty all over the legacy of the real ECW.
Everyone has tried to rip-off of ECW: WWF/E, WCW, TNA, XPW, etc. But there is only one TRUE ECW. and, there will never be another one!

i was at the barb wire match ...if you look at the beginning of the clip there is a guy on the right side in an orange shirt and white backwards hat...i am 2 seats to his left. i had some G R E A T pictures from that show.
