I did a lot of jobs when I was a *** and in high school like, mowing yards, hauling hay, picking produce, moving **** like furniture, selling watermelons, helping my grandfather at his service station, etc., but the first job I had where I put in my 40 hours+/week and collected a paycheck was in 1991 at Lufkin Industries between my junior and senior years in high school. Minimum wage was $4 something an hour and I had a job making $5.85/hour, plus overtime. The first time I cashed a check for over $1,000 of my own hard earned money was an income tax return the following tax season, 1992, on that same summer job. Good times, sure seems like they were a lot simpler.
