What Is Your Favorite Pure Breed Of Dog?

I've had 2 Akitas that I really loved that had long, happy lives. I have 2 cats now but no dog and am wanting to get a male Akita. The Akitas I had were great with cats and I would have the new puppy spending lots of time with the cats. After some initial drama I am confident that they would all become friends. Akitas are loyal and devoted family dogs and the ones I had were well behaved, friendly with people, and fairly quiet and mellow. The only con is dog aggression and I know I have to be real cautious bringing a male Akita around another male dog.

I love English Mastiff's. I've never owned one, but I know people that do, and I have never heard a bad thing about them....other then needing a front end loader to clean up their poop, and a dump truck to haul their food.

For sheer intelligence, tenacity, agility, beauty and overall badassitude, no breed compares to my beloved Belgian Malinois. My girl Lac3y isn't as famous as Detective David Hoffman, pictured below. But she's just as smart and pretty.

Here's an actual picture of Lac3y. She helped pick up my niece at JFK for my stepfather's funeral.

She made the sign herself. WHO'S A GOOD GIRL?!? WHO'S A GOOD GIRL?!?

I don't know. But I was watching a show on Animal Planet where a guy was out in a cabin in the woods with his German Shepherd. All of a sudden, this big damned black bear comes charging out of the woods. The Shep attacked the bear, which was a bad move, because the bear tore him the hell up into pieces, and all the guy could do was run back into his cabin and watch his dog getting dragged off into the woods.
Moral: A dog is loyal and will protect its master
Moral 2: Bear vs dog...BEAR WINS, stupid.
