What Stan Polley did to them by ripping them off as well as Al Kooper, and Lou Christie -- was a disgrace. Pete Ham and Tom Evans committed suicide because of him. I hope Stan Polley's soul is burning someplace in Hell.

According to this article Apple Records screwed them too. I don't get the part about Paul McCartney.
