I understand that we shouldn't have sports teams named after racial slurs. I've personally never heard "Redskin" used as a racial slur (I've heard much worse names for Native Americans), but that's besides the point.
Now they're saying that it's not just the racist slur, but the "Mascotry" that's offensive.

In other words, if a team logo/name references Native Americans in ANY WAY, it's offensive and must be changed.
I think they're going too far now. There are tons of teams that would be affected: The Braves, Blackhawks, Chiefs, Indians and any of their ***** league offshoots.
And since they're mad about logos depicting native culture as well, that means the Seattle Seahawks and Vancouver Canucks are also "offensive".
Heck, in Canada there's a Pro Football team called the Edmonton Eskimos. F'n ESKIMOS. That term was deemed so offensive that you have to call them Inuit. And yet no one seems to be complaining about them.
Does anybody really find any of these offensive?
