unsafe websites

I seem to be finding out the hard way that web sites that seem safe are not. Between the viruses they upload on you secretly or being ripped off by a membership scam I am getting afraid to click on to any adult entertainment web site anymore. .Any suggestions that may ease my mind, would be greatly appreciated. I love the variety on here, but I have have ****** a lot of money I don't really have to throw away anymore. Hardheaded

Mostly, there's just the obvious: Install good security software and keep it updated. Also, use your browser's or security software's website scanning option. You can always buy security software (e.g., Norton, McAfee) but most internet service providers offer it free. You can also use good freeware programs such as AVG Free (antivirus); AdAware (anti-spam); and ZoneAlarm (firewall). There are many others; those are just a few.
