Uninstall software. Goddamn!

Does anybody know a GOOD working uninstall software?

it is the question of despair!

cuz of course, I've searched the fucking web many times, reading about that shit, spent a lot of time, and even downloaded 3 (!) different programms, and all of them were described as "powerfull clever soft". millions of other progs in the net are also described as a hell of a tools, which can solve any problem, but I really ain't got no patience to download and check them all!

cuz when I put them to the test, it is one big fail!
3 programms that I used were not able to do what they were supposed to!

I want to find the developers of that shitty progs, and with the knife at their necks ask them what the hell they did!

The story:
I have a problem with some software (adobe cs). It needs to be reinstalled. before installing, I have to uninstall it. First, I used windows control panel - add or remove programms, and have chosen the prog from the list.
it ran original change/modify/remove setup programm, but it told me some crap about "fatal error, can't find required files and all that shit, so I can't uninstall"

it was "why the hell? number 1"

Thats why I decided to uninstall it with some uninstaller. I tried ashampoo uninstaller, uninstall gold and uninstall tool.

Uninstall gold deleted the programm from the list, told about some registry keys deleted as well and said that everything was OK. Сallid motherfucker!!! After reboot all that progs appeared in the list again.

I tried Ashampoo. And it really pissed me of!
why, why the hell would I need a 3-rd party uninstaller, if I had no problems with runing original uninstaller from the windows control panel?!

I thought that special uninstallers are created especially for the case, when there are some troubles with it, and when something is incorrect with original uninstaller. but no. ashampoo did exactly the same, what happened when I used windows control panel - add or remove programs. It tried to run original uninstaller and said that it can't find some files... what a news! thanks a lot for such a useful information :1orglaugh

uninstall tool also was not able to uninstall all the remains of the programm, and there are still many "parts" of incorrectly uninstalled software in the registry and everywhere else.

THE QUESTION:

who used any of the uninstallers? (with success) and which one can REALLY help in uninstalling some incorrect programms, which can't be erased from the computer using tradional ways of uninstall? something like decent searching and cleaning in registry and erasing any traces of the programm, not just stupid attempt to run a built-in uninstaller and telling me that is was an error while executing it!!!

Due to that remains of the previous install, something is wrong with the computer, and I can't install a programm again. So I need to find a way to eliminate any signs of its existence!

aaaa!!! :crash:

Try running the uninstallers in safe mode. There is likely runtimes being loaded on startup that prevent uninstallation. Oh, and Adobe can kiss my white ass. They haven't made a smooth program- ever.

Tell the truth, you downloaded the Virtual Reality Porno Simulator: Deluxe Shemale Porks You Expansion and now after you found out that it wants all your information you want to get rid of it but it won't go away. :hatsoff:

I'd save all the information you need on your computer onto an external hard drive. Reset it to new, so the hard drive is ready to be written over again (assuming you own a pc). If you have too much information to save I'm going to wonder how much you have your computer. It's dangerous to keep to much information. Hackers can find files and open them and steal your information. I have done this to my friends computers a few times since they wanted to see what it was like. I blew there computer to hell and he has a file that has all his saved passwords in it. I didn't even need the password to open the file in read only. LOLZ those were the fun days of high school. Now I don't hack really since it's very easy to track someone and it's becoming tougher and my script kiddie style is dying. Good hackers need to know the ins and out of computers. Just saying I kind of went into a rant.

I've tried, but the problem was not in it. Now I think that I have to format disk and reinstall windows, it will be faster than trying to get rid of the "scraps" of the Adobe halfly-uninstalled software... damn!

alas, it was Adobe creative suite, and I need to install it again. but it can't be installed without complete uninstall. it is a motherfucking vicious cycle: programm is dead enough not to run, but alive enough to prevent a new installation!

I was going to suggest a 3rd party uninstaller but you already tried that... Have you tried installing it again? If you do it will remove older entries or repair that installation.

Go into safe mode and use "add/remove programs" in the control panel. Go into "My Computer" properties to the System Restore tab and turn off system restore first.

This may not be what you want to hear, but you may need to do what 24788 said about moving the files you need to an external hard drive, flash drive, etc, and either reset it to factory defaults, if you have Windows or a MAC, reset to a previous period, or what I like to do about every six months or when something like this happens, I reformat the hard drive, reinstall the operating system and the software I need. Updates are kind of bitch in this situation - it will take a little while.

It's kind of a pain in the ass, but computers run so much better when you get rid of all the junks that accumulates over time.

Yes , I endorse that. It's pretty good and at the end lists the registry entries associated with the program just uninstalled and invites you to delete them if you feel like it. If you do so, make sure the registry is backed up!

Also mentioned above is CCleaner from Piriform. It's really one of those "must have" programs which (safely) do so much to clear clutter from the drive.Piriform also offer Defraggler, the best defrag program I've yet encountered.

All the programs listed are freeware.
