The very early PHs from 2003-2004 or so were all plants. If you watch the DSOs of the same time frame, you can't even tell the difference.
Funny you mention this because I didn't even realize that there were amateurs in DSOs. The whole reason I stopped watching DSO and moved to PH was because I thought DSO were all pro's and PH were "mostly" amateurs.
