Yes, they make mistakes like this on a regular basis. Being open and honest about them, and fixing them quickly would gain the trust of their customers. I think that's a very promising thing that they could do to regain the trust of their long time members.

Being willing to respond to emails from long time members would also help enhance that sense of trust. I would encourage them to create a community, and engage productively with members of that community. Their recent actions have proved that they're reading what we write here, and are willing to listen. They should double down on that commitment.
