After watching the documentry on c5 last night about traci i was shocked . I never even knew she was a pornstar so i looked on the web and came across this

It's fairly well known, she got notoriety due to the fact that all but one of her videos she made she was underage at the time.

Though she lied about her age, but now nearly all her videos are illegal, to show or own.

Being a pornstar is the only thing that made Traci famous.... her "acting" and "music" careers, if you are generous enough to believe she has talent at either, would never had existed if she'd hadn't had her 15 min of fame as a pornstar (with the scandal getting her coverage with the mainstram press).

I have very little interest in her other than her pornstar career, because at least she was good at that! lol

I would like to add one more point to my earlier arguement. I know of 4 or 5 pornstars that have tried to "go straight" over the years, and of all of them Traci Lords is the only one that continues to go by her pornstar name... I DO happen to know her real name, but won't post it here as that doesn't seem appropriate to me. The only other pornstar that comes close is Ginger Lynn, who went by Ginger Lynn Allen in her mainstream work... and that happens to be her real name, so you can argue that's her reason for doing it. Also, Ginger's always been very kind in her comments about the porn industry, so it makes sense that she'd want to cash in on her XXX fame. Unfortunately, it never worked, and her mainstream success was paltry at best.

In contrast, Traci Lords denounced everything about the industry when her secret came out. You'd think that that would make her want to divorce herself from her past completely, but by keeping her pornstar name she made her intentions pretty clear. If Traci wasn't trying to capitalize upon her pornstar fame (or infamy, if you prefer), what other reason could there be?

A free newsserver. I think she should go back to porn she was really good at it. Although she denied haven't fun doing them and had a drug problem and was underage you really can't tell. She did so many films and magazines photoshoots.

Thanks for the link, some very nice photos there... and also thanks to Lisa for the link she provided; I'd not seen many of those pics before, though the vidcaps were familiar to me.

BTW, if I hadn't been clear enough before, I meant to imply that I believe Traci's lambasting of the industry was mainly, if not completely, fabricated. After being caught in her lie, she went on to playing the role of the victim to a tee but also tried to use it to her benefit; in my eyes this destroyed any credibility she might have. Though I'm no shrink, it seems very unlikely to me that a "true victim" would want to be called by her "victim" name... it makes much more sense that she'd do everything possible to distance herself from that part of her life. Case in point, Linda Lovelace, who became a harsh critic of the indusrty after she retired. I don't know how legitimate Linda's claims were, but I sure as hell am much more willing to believe her than I ever would Traci Lords.

I'm not old enough to remember this fiasco firsthand (as I'm sure Vio isn't either), but I know there's no exaggeration in what he says.... the shockwaves from what happened were enormous... in fact, remnants of it still exist to this day. Ever notice you when see a video, they always have that message that states the day it was shot and a guarantee that "all actors were 18 or older on that date?" That is part of the fallout from the Traci Lords scandal, one of the steps the industry took to protect themselves from further scandals. Funny thing is, there's no such thing as a perfect system.... a decade or so later it happened again! Alexandria Quinn, who's actually still working and is now one of the older women in the business, managed to slip thru the cracks and work underage using a fake passport (she's Canadian). All of her earlier films have her edited out of them.
