Incidentally, algae is probably how we will Terra form Mars, to create a breathable oxygen atmosphere, but it will take centuries once started, if not more.
Right now the Mars atmosphere is 95% CO2, 3% Nitrogen, 1.6% Argon, and other trace gases, and a negligible amount of O2, and about 1% volume of Earths atmosphere.
