Today is the 50th anniversary of my death

This line gives you a good idea of my age... but may give you a wrong (?) one of my mental health.

I died June 5th, 1958.

I was a kid and had one of these illnesses kids have, very high temperatures, etc.. and had been at the hospital for 3 weeks when I passed away.

The doctor filled (I don't know how to call that) my death certificate and my parents were at the hospital besides my bed when I opened up my eyes and was back of the living folks. Surprise!!!

For a long time it was my favorite thing in these office parties where people have to say a few things about themselves and the others try to guess what is true and what is a lie. I always won because nobody believed me but I had this official death certificate... that was destroyed some 15 years ago in a flooding. Too bad, now people just don't believe.

So tonight I have a great bottle of wine and other nice stuff... :jump: And somehow I prefer this anniversary than the one of my birth.

cheers!

BTW. Don't ask me if there was some light and a tunnell... I never remembered anything. Just like being asleep and no dreams.

Keep enjoying life bunker...every last second of it.

Cheers.

It happens from time to time, you bet ! ;)

We're certainly glad that you're back with us bunker !

What was it like for the first few days, weeks and months following
this awakening ? I mean your poor parents had to be just drop dead (sorry, I had to) astonished ? :yesyes:
Did they not let you out of their sight, sort of over protective, if you will, for some time afterwards ?
I could imagine.

Great story !

Personally, the thing that I fear the greatest when we speak about
"The End"
is any agony that we may endure on up to our "final approach", passing . . . pearly gates . . .
you know, the "d" word.

What are you drinking BTW ? A fine Chateauneauf Du Pape Rhone? . . .Chateau Mouton Rothschild Bordeaux?
Or just plain screw cap ?

Cheers To You
Here's to the next 50 ! :glugglug:

Have you ever thought of applying for a job at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland? :)

My parents ? For a few months I remember they were like not there. It was very quiet in the house. They were not overlooking all the time at me but mostly they seemed like lost in their toughts.
But my older brother (still a kid also) was always making jokes about that and I think it helped them somehow.
Also since I was not aware the importance of what happened and in fact it was to me as if nothing happened, so things went slowly back to what they used to be.
But my mother always hated my death cetificate and the jokes I was doing with it and did not want to look at it. It is something she never really talked about.

What I am drinking : Pomerol Château L'Évangile... not the kind of stuff I usually drink.

cheers

BTW : I used to listen to that song about every day when the album was released !

I should have tought about that. :)

For 2 or 3 years my brother and the neighbors were building some kind of little cemetery at Halloween... of course I was the one in the coffin, standing up to ask for chocolates and chewing gums, when someone was passing by. We were quite succesfull.:) but some people hated that and we had to stop.

Happy Re-birthday, glad you made it!
