Just wondering why my rep boxes are red and i have minus a few thousand rep points? Surely i aint that bad,there are much worse people on here than me,and besides,i have never been banned.
Dont get me wrong i aint losing sleep over this im just puzzled.

You probably didn't have much rep points & you made a post someone disliked (you can check your rep history if you click on the profile button & scroll down a bit (depending on how many threads you've subscribed to that actually have new posts in them)). If the person that - repped you had a lot of rep power, you would have lost a lot of rep power...

You probably didn't have much rep points & you made a post someone disliked (you can check your rep history if you click on the profile button & scroll down a bit (depending on how many threads you've subscribed to that actually have new posts in them)). If the person that - repped you had a lot of rep power, you would have lost a lot of rep power...

That's a very good point. A friend of mine here @ freeones told me a story of how he was bad repped. Not because he had said anything bad but just for voicing an opinion that didn’t sit well with one member of this forum. This member made their feelings very clear in the comments left with the bad rep. Being mr google I then decided to take a look at that member’s previous posts and guess what he has a clear history of provoking trouble. I will not mention this person’s user name but I well tell you that he was recently banned. Need I say more. :hatsoff:

The problem is I've noticed that there are a small number of older established members who sneak around this forum looking for any excuse to bad rep people and I've noticed (having examined their previous posts) they generally target new members who I think they perceive as an easy target.

I hope the mods keep an eye out for these people and ban them ASAP. :2 cents:

The mods don't because the mods can't. Your rep history is private as far as I know. This means that I can't see your rep history & you can't see mine. I can't see whom you've repped & I can't see whom you've been repped by (either + or -) & I have to say I doubt the mods/admins have the ability to see other people's rep history.

So unless you report them, there's little the mods/admins can do & new posters will just have to accept that this happens, as there's little they can do besides reporting the person - repping them (except post good posts which will earn them enough + rep so that these people won't be able to do much damage...).
