At first I thought "Kool! He's gonna be able to just drive right into the water and go fishing, then drive back onto land and go home without leaving the car."
Then I remembered people actually buy half 'lectric half gas cars called Hybrids, that cost too much. Yep...that's what you meant...

Those I've met with a Toyota Hybrid really liked it, good performance good per gallon mileage, not too high priced.

A crime-fighting robot that transforms into a trailer truck counts as a hybrid, right? :dunno:

I wouldn't. I mean if you're into saving the environment hardcore, then go for it. But my ex was buying a Civic, and until it came in they gave her a Civic hybrid to drive. Now she was a girl who wasn't a reckless driver and she parked it and borrowed her Mom's car instead because it was such a pathetic ride. Going up hills on the highway...better floor it. By no means do I mean to speed either, I mean to make it up the hill lol. I would have to say no no no.

Edit: This is speaking strictly for the Civic Hybrid btw. Though I can't see that much difference between makes/models.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Buy a real fucking car.
Hybrid cars are no good.
only 45 mpg? my car gets 38 and its not even a hybrid. that doesn't make sense.
O course it makes sense: When you use a hybrid you have to lug around the battery and at least one additional engine.
Hybrids are a stupid idea. Turning sewage into biofuel would be a major step towards resolving this issue.
Better public transport would also be critical. We're unlikely to see either under Capitalism.

The Miss model is great. :o :lame:

Lexus GS450h - Possibly just out of your price range though.
This.

In this price range the Toyota Prius is probably the only option. It's a good car since it was one of the (if not THE) first hybrid cars so is highly developed. :)

I think LPG cars are better though.

Hybrids are just a way to make you buy two engines instead of one people

Double power - the Lexus 450h accelerates to 60mph in a mere 5.4 seconds. Not bad for the size and price.
I wouldn't look at buying a hybrid to save the planet. It may cut my fuel bills, be in a lower road tax bracket and no Congestion Charge in London (not that I would ever drive in London), but by the time you look at the battery manufacture it does not really do the planet that much good anyway.

I don't follow the hybrid market, but have you looked at the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid? I think it's around $37K (standard) to $40K (fully optioned).
