They've been out a while but are you pleased with the Xbox One & PS4?

Hi guys,

As both consoles have been out a while & issues with said consoles seem to have been rectified, are you happy with your purchase or purchases?

I bought a Xbox One which had a disk drive issue & had to go back, however since this has been rectified I am on the whole happy with my purchase.
My only downside to having the console is that its so restricting..
In my infinite wisdom I decided to get rid of both my PS3 & Xbox 360 without realising I would need said consoles to play my old faves.

How do you guys feel about your new purchases? :)

i bought a ps4.
overall i like it very much. 2 things are annoying. the store is getting updated to slow and sticks of the contollers get the "used look" way to fast. sony already said this was an production issue and they solved it but i will have to change my controllers:(
anyway looking forward for new games.

I'm also looking forward to more games being available.
At the moment I feel both consoles have a very restrictive amount of games!

Are your sticks grating? I used to find my PS3 analogue sticks could make an awful scratching noise after a while.

I've never understood why this is surprising to people when consoles launch. Every console launch, there are a limited amount of games. It's one of the reasons why I don't buy new consoles at launch. The other reason being the bugs.

I got a PS4 at launch and an Xbox One about 3 weeks ago. I'm happy with both and so far have had no problems.

The PS4 is more powerful, the games are run at 1080p native and I like the share feature with which you can take screenshots and videoclips and upload them to the internet.

The Xbox One has the kinect features but doesn't let you take screenshots (lame) and can only upload videoclips within xbox live.

All that said, I've been playing the crap out of Xbox One and my PS4 is collecting dust. It's all about the games. Ryse: Son of Rome is a masterpiece IMO, and Titanfall is tons o' fun.

I'd have no issues but the fact neither are backwards compatible makes it restricting, You don't expect hundred of games but its a bit gutting not being able to play your old games...

I haven't played a game on the PS4 that made me glad I purchased it at launch. Infamous is on it's way, hopefully that'll change my mind.

Next time I'm buying a console the following summer.

I bought an Xbox One and I'm happy with my purchase. I wish it had backwards capability, was smaller, and had no power brick but otherwise it runs very smoothly and I've had no problems with it.

More 1080p games are coming for the X1.

Glad you had no issues!
I really wanted to replay Dead Rising 1&2 but will have to borrow or buy a xbox 360 to be able which is a little gutting!

Not to mention the prices usually drop a fair bit after a few months. May as well wait a few months and pay less for a better overall experience. Little advantage to being an early adopter.

Both consoles are solid. I owned PS through there PS2, but couldn't afford the 3 so I love my 360; however, the PS4 is awesome for me!
Killzone (traded after I beat it)
Watch Dogs
Destiny

Not many games, but I enjoy them and the free monthly games.

Just recently bought a PS4 and I like it so far. Still waiting for those exclusive games to come out but overall happy with the purchase. Till then, I'll stick to my PS3 and PC for gaming for now.

I like my PS4, I feel I could have waited a little while longer to get one but I have been enjoying Battlefield 4 the most, Diablo 3 was good, Infamous: Second Son was fun but I sold it after beating it as I didn't see myself playing it again. Final Fantasy XIV is a gorgeous MMO but requires way too much of my time. I'm very anxious for The Evil Within and The Witcher 3

I have played on them at a buddies house but do not own them. I did enjoy the few games I played though.

However I feel those systems are simply waaaay to expensive for what they are and the games are as well. If someone were to hand me the same amount of money they were going to spend on one XboxOne or PS4 and a couple games I could build them a gaming PC that will blow the doors off of the XboxOne or PS4 hands down.

This is kind of why I have stuck with PC gaming.

what the fuck you lookin at?
To be honest now that we're over a year into this gen so called console war, I find both severely lacking in the games department. Hardware specs aside, as I don't understand all that shit anyway. microsoft has halo, forza and gears. Dunno if either are out yet, but they will be at some point. Gears was a blast on 360, forza is just a damn beautiful racing sim with a shit ton of customizable options I can't be bothered to spend enough time with anyway, and fuck halo.

Sony has zero exclusives, maybe AC? Don't care if it is or not. Oh and Gran Tourismo, not as in depth as forza but still a solid racing sim. I don't understand the draw to those.

I chose to get a PS4 mainly because I feel sony makes a superior product. Like I said hardware specs be damned. Sony's machine is just well built and I have had zero issues with the first 3 generations of playstations. Same can't be said for my fucking suck box that died more than twice. Which is why I found my way back to sony with the PS3, and now 4

Love my PS4, but got a screaming Costco deal :)

Room for improvement as far as great games, but it has already delivered over 200+ hours of therapy haha! Average 4-5 hours a week lately
