That looks nice. I just wonder who decides where it's going to turn, and how they get the elevators to work with a rotating building.

dubai is just one fucking crazy place...they have the greatest ideas for their buildings and manmade islands...for example the island that's shaped like a shell or something..then the ones theyre making to resemble the continents..you can buy ur own continent...this is what oil prices does for the rich...i heard so far that the oil owners of dubai are contibuting a shit load of money to increase the appeal of their once forgotten desert..crazy crazy

That is one of the most ridiculous thing that I have ever seen in my life. Have you ever seen a picture of some of those Middle Eastern Cities? The architecture on the buildings and all the other cities stuff is pretty weird and far out.

And, now you know why are gas prices are so expensive

This building really fascinates me as im an architecture student....the only thing that comes into my head is..."I wish id have thought of that"

Actually Dubai has virtually no oil resources. They made an intelligent decision to try to attract business and investors to something unique about 10 years ago. That started with the most luxurious hotel in the world. But yes, it is connected to oil money.

Check out the falcon city of wonders - you can live in the Eiffel Tower or the Pyramids etc etc - If you have never been to Dubai - you have no idea what ur missing- Marvel Entertainment is building a theme park there - so are SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, MGM and so on - Trump is building a hotel there and so too are Boris Becker, Michael Shumacher and anyone else with a name - Golf Courses designed by Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer and the "Shark" - home to the tallest skyscraper in the world Burj Dubai (rumoured to reach 880 meters when completed) - nothing anywhere in this hemisphere can compare - sorry - our ideas and opinions of the Middle East are so screwed up by watching CNN -

Here is the link to one of the big developers..

Oh yeah - and an underwater hotel being built as we speak -

and all being done in a place where oil is less than 5% of the GDP - it aint oil money folks - its vision! for the record, all the countries in the Persian Gulf are going crazy - its just that Dubai is leading the way. Been there several times and plan on going back several more....its also tax free! :) Sunny all year around and beautiful babes! Whats not to love!
