The Rep / Reputation Game
The rep game is a feature that allows members to give reputation points(hereafter "rep points") to other members (positive rep). It also allows members to negative rep other members, which takes away some reputation.
To give or take rep points from a member, select the orange box with an X-Checkmark under the member's name/avatar on any given post. You will then be prompted to approve (give rep) or disapprove (take rep).
There are limits to how many times any member may give/take rep in a 24hr period. You are also not able to give/take rep to the same post more than once.
New members have to accumulate a certain number of positive rep points before their own points affect other members.
The green or red squares are not an exact scale of a member's reputation point total. The squares do nothing more than act as a sort of approximate "speedometer".
The original purpose of the system was to give a little something extra to the board. The game has, however, become for many, a simple way to just say "hello" or hand out rep in a fairly random fashion (a "rep bump"). As such, there may be members that:
1) Take reputation very seriously and give/take only when deemed necessary/worthy
2) Give reputation just to be friendly or hope to get rep back (collectors)
3) Could care less about the system
4) Give negative rep just because
5) all or some of the above or other reasons
To that end, the reputation game does not signify the importance, credibility or respect level of a member. It may reflect accurately on some members, but may not on others. (This does not even take into account members that joined before or long after the rep system was implemented in the Spring of 2005!) So, as a new member, do not worry about positive or negative rep from a 1 rep point member or a member with 4 digit rep. Remember that rep points play NO role in the moderation of the board - a new member is treated the same as a huge rep collector. It is not a status symbol - it is a fun and optional way to play "trading cards".
Positive or negative rep may be given to anyone for any reason. If you receive neg rep, there may very well be a solid reason or often times there may not. It is a part of life on the board. Do not let it affect your participation, unless of course, you realize that the neg rep was for a legitimate reason (such as rule violations, flaming et al). That said, please remember the rule: ***** of the rep point system is not allowed. The rep point system is not a tool for grudges or personal attacks. Misuse of the rep system can result in a warning or ban.
Members have been ****** for flaming or attacking members with rep comments. Be careful about your comments for that reason. It is worth noting that Admin may read any comments given or left by a member from their entire rep history to investigate flaming or serious complaints.
You will find a list of all Mods here. Just select PM on the far right.
The complete Board rules can be found here.
Addition:
You can receive My Freeones points via reputation points. Here's how it works:
First 50 reputation points = 100 My Freeones points
Every 50 reputation points until 250 = 100 My Freeones points
250 reputation points = a one time only 250 My Freeones points
Every 250 reputation points after the initial 250 = 200 My Freeones points
Please be sure that you have read the rules and advice about reputation written above.
*** Please note that threads started specifically to give each other reputation is NOT allowed. Anyone caught making or participating in this thread will be dealt with accordinaly.

If you have questions or comments, please contact a Moderator by Private Message (PM).What is rep *****?
- Rep ***** is calling people names or "flaming" them in the negative rep comment.
What isn't rep *****?
Rep ***** is not leaving negative rep just because and without reason, it is not notifying someone in breach of rules or board etiquette, and it is not because someone disagrees with your post.
Again, negative rep is part of the board. Reputation means absolutely nothing. If you get negative rep and this upsets you, step away from your computer and get a breath of fresh air!
