Thank you, Hulk Hogan and Linda Hogan. It's not often we get a DUI arrest and a celebrity sex tape in the same post.
First we have Linda, a.k.a. Linda Bollea, who was pulled over for speeding and then arrested on suspicion of DUI in the wee hours Thursday in Malibu. She was released shortly before 9 a.m. on $5,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department records.
"She regrets it. She’s a mom, so she’s embarrassed about it," her lawyer Raymond Rafool told the New York Daily News.
Linda's rep told TMZ that the 53-year-old been drinking bubbly on an empty stomach at a jewelry event, and it reacted with antibiotics she'd been taking, magnifying the effects of the alcohol. Her blood alcohol level was allegedly 0.084, the website said, just over the 0.08 legal limit.
And then there's Hulk and the sex tape, an edited minute of which was posted Thursday afternoon on Gawker.
The tape's not new. It surfaced earlier this year and was reportedly shopped around to at least one porn studio. Linda's lawyer specifically had no comment on it Friday, telling the Daily News that the exes were at a "peaceful place" after their complicated and costly 2009 divorce and that his client's DUI arrest was not connected in any way.
We watched the edited minute of grainy footage -- Gawker says it got the tape anonymously, and for free -- and can report that yes, people are naked, tan lines and receding hairlines are showing, and sex does appear to take place.
There's a very businesslike feel to the excerpts from the encounter, which Hogan, 59, said in March was secretly taped without his knowledge or permission. Hulk's lawyers on Friday were in the process of drafting a cease-and-desist letter and threatening to sue for invasion of privacy if the tape weren't taken down, TMZ reported.
As of this posting, the tape was still live and online.
