The Guinness Appreciation Thread

Guinness, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

It's not the best stout I've ever had but it makes an excellent staple and the fridge is always stocked with it.
It's a light taste but it tastes good. And for those who are watching their calories or carbs, at 125 calories it's comparable to some light beers and only 10 carbs.
And I can't nail it down into words, but I just get the sense that I'm drinking something good for me. Like drinking a glass of raw eggs in the morning before working out or something.

I don't always drink ****, but when I do, I drink this beauty:

Guinness is always some good stuff. I started drinking it not only because I liked it, but I found out that my Honey Brown swilling friends wouldn't try to bum any of it, so there was always more for me! I enjoy the black lager, but I've yet to try the blond ale. Has anyone tried that yet?

Not my fave but I will drink it if they are handing them out. I did buy a case of Bruce Dickinson's Trooper Ale and it was expensive so I think I won't buy again but I have some pretty cool Iron Maiden **** bottles now. Basically it (Trooper) tastes like a British Yuengling.

Guinness is an acceptable alternative to when there is nothing on handpull and I don't feel like spirits. "Not the best stout" is the best description. It's not exactly bland but it's certainly not as robust as plenty of stouts and has a kind of.... I dunno.... "neutral" taste to it, if you follow. In terms of darker **** I'd usually go for a porter over a stout anyway, but like I say, Guinness is a decent **** to drink all day when the alternatives are **** weak lager, cider, or some ropey bitter like John Smiths or Tetleys.

Caffreys on the other hand... that's a different ******.

I do not like it. Not a fan of dark beers. I prefer amber, or golden lagers. Great lakes Elliot Ness, or Dortmunder Gold work for me. Although my best friend...100% Irishman, does tend to like it. Now around St Patty's day, they brew an Irish Ale, called "Conway's Irish Ale"...that's very good. All of the beers from Great Lakes Brewing, fall into the13-16% ******* range

Guinness is one of my favourite things in the world. Though its not up there with pussy, it's pretty up there.

It's not one of my favourite beers that's for sure.

If there's nothing else available I'll have one though.

Guinness is the business. When it's good. Is you get a bad Guinness it can put you off it for life!
